Applications are now open for the FIA Girls on Track – Empower program at this year’s World Time Attack Challenge, offering young women the opportunity to gain hands-on experience behind the scenes of one of Australia’s premier motorsport events.

Held at Sydney Motorsport Park from Thursday 3 September to Saturday 5 September, the program is open to women aged 18-22 and will provide five placements to successful applicants, including one peer mentor position.

Designed to provide practical experience across multiple areas of event operations, participants will rotate through a range of key departments during the three-day event.

These include the media centre, corporate hospitality, broadcast, race control and officials, and event operations, with participants spending between 90 minutes and two hours each day in each area across the event weekend.

The program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced industry professionals, providing valuable insight into the wide variety of career pathways available within motorsport beyond driving.

Applicants must hold a current Motorsport Australia Officials Licence and a valid Working With Children Check. While applications are welcome from across Australia, priority will be given to participants living in the Sydney metropolitan area to help minimise travel costs.

Applications are open now and will close at midnight on Sunday 2 August. Shortlisted applicants will be notified by Wednesday 5 August before final placements are confirmed ahead of the event.
