Few names in Australian motorsport carry the same weight as Peter Brock.
A legend both on and off the track, Brock’s influence extended far beyond his success behind the wheel.
His passion for competition, his connection with fans, and his respect for fellow competitors helped shape the culture of Australian motorsport, values that continue to be celebrated through the Peter Brock Medal.
Presented annually by Motorsport Australia, the Peter Brock Medal recognises an individual who embodies the qualities that made Brock such an enduring figure in the sport.

The award places a special emphasis on passion, character, sportsmanship, camaraderie and a genuine contribution to motorsport – as opposed to results alone.
Over the years, the medal has been awarded to some of Australian motorsport’s most respected names, such as Craig Lowndes, Mark Webber, Molly Taylor, Toby Price and Brodie Kostecki.
For 2025, Chaz Mostert added his name to that prestigious list.
Mostert’s recognition came following a standout period in his career both domestically and abroad, capped by his maiden Supercars Championship title in 2025.
His success on track was matched by the qualities that have made him one of Australian motorsport’s most recognisable personalities, making the Peter Brock Medal a fitting acknowledgement of his contribution to the sport.

For Mostert, receiving an honour carrying Brock’s name represented something particularly significant and personal.
“I’m absolutely honoured to win this award,” Mostert said during his acceptance speech.
“At that time I was barracking for the other brand, the Blue Oval brand, but I had a really good friend who took me there and he said, ‘we have to line up for Peter Brock, everyone here has to see Peter Brock. If you’re not going for that car, or you are, you’ve got to see him’.
“It was the first time I got to meet Peter and his [autograph] line was about three kilometres long.
“I could understand why it took so long to get to the table and meet him, because still to this day, more than any other driver I’ve ever met, he had the most amount of time for the fans.
“I stood at that table for a minute and we had a conversation back and forth, and he had people trying to rush him off to get back to go drive a race car, and all he cared about was the fans and the people who loved the sport that he loved so much.
“To this day I try my best to represent that. But he was one of a kind.”
