October begins with another active weekend of Motorsport Australia-permitted competition, with 28 events scheduled across seven states and territories, covering everything from circuit and rallying to auto test disciplines.
New South Wales has the largest event lineup with eight events, led by a particularly strong weekend of motorkhana competition. Sydney Motorsport Park will host the Porsche Club NSW Driver Training Night, Christian Autosports Club of Australia’s Figure 8 Motorkhana, Road and Track Drivers Club’s Motorkhana and BMW Drivers Club NSW’s Motorkhana, while Armidale Sporting Car Club celebrates its 60th anniversary with a motorkhana event of its own. Ringwood Park will also welcome the MG Car Club Newcastle for a hillclimb, with Coffs Coast hosting Round 3 of its Bush Khanacross Series.
Victoria also has eight events scheduled across the long weekend, headlined by major circuit racing at Phillip Island and Winton. The Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships will return to Phillip Island for Round 5, while the Victorian Motor Racing Championship continues at Winton Motor Raceway. Hillclimb competition will take place at Boisdale and Rob Roy, alongside motorkhana action at Geelong, a rallysprint at Bagshot and khanacross competition at Mafeking.
Queensland’s seven events provide a broad mix of competition, with the QSSS B Series Round 4 taking place at Morgan Park Raceway across Friday to Sunday. The state will also feature the Imbil Rallysprint, Mount Cotton Hillclimb, a Whitsunday Sporting Car Club Members Day and an autocross round at Willowbank Park, as well as a Sunshine Coast car run.
South Australia has three events on the schedule, with the Adelaide Hills Rally and The Bend Classic both running across the long weekend. Collingrove will then host the Barossa Vintage Collingrove Hillclimb on Sunday.
Tasmania will feature a hillclimb at Lake Barrington, with the North West Car Club hosting its Barrington Hill Climb, while Western Australia will welcome competitors to Collie Motorplex for the Collie Coalfields 500.
In the Northern Territory, the North Australian Motor Sports Club will continue its championship season with Round 10 of the NT Motorkhana Club Championship at Hidden Valley Motor Complex on Friday.
