In partnership with Full Send SimSport, the Women’s Introduction to Esports program is a new pathway for women entering the world of esports.

Backed by the FIA, the free eight-week Women’s Introduction to Esports online program is designed to open the doors to sim racing in a way that is welcoming, confidence-building and fun.

Successful applicants will participate in an information night on 29 June with the first of eight weeks starting on the evening of Wednesday 1 July, guided by Full Send SimSport under the expert tuition of Australian racing driver, Caitlin Wood.

Across seven weeks of online coaching, participants will slowly build their racecraft, with every session tailored to their experience level and equipment, whether they’re using a controller or a full sim rig.

That seven-weeks of learning culminates in a Week 8 Showcase where drivers come together online for friendly races, community connection, and a chance to see just how far they’ve come.

Program Outline

1. Basic Control & Track Familiarity – Learn throttle, brake and steering basics; understand track layout

2. Cornering Fundamentals – Approach and exit corners safely; learn braking points and throttle control

3. Linking Clean Laps – Build rhythm and consistency across multiple laps

4. Advanced Car Control – Introduction to trail braking and throttle modulation

5. Racecraft Basics – Racing etiquette, spatial awareness, holding a line in traffic

6. Situational Awareness and Pressure Handling – Manage traffic, avoid incidents, race with confidence

7. Pre-Race Simulation – Apply all skills in a mock race format over 10-laps

The FIA Esports Global Rally Tour will bring together thousands of drivers across all FIA regions through online qualifiers and in-person regional shoot-out events in the new format competition.

This innovative new event is open to everyone, with no restriction on skill level or licence type. The first stage will be held as an online qualifier from 12-25 May 2026 using Assetto Corsa Rally with competitors required to submit their time on the Wales – Hafren North – Cwmbiga Stage using a Hyundai i20N Rally 2.

Fifty six drivers – eight from each participating region – will continue to the next stage for their region, which for Australian participants is the Asia-Pacific Shoot-out.

These regional shootouts will involve a knock-out format with quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final held at separate in-person events around the globe. Australian qualifiers will compete at the Asia-Pacific Shoot-out during the FIA Conference in Macau on 22-25 June 2026.

A Motorsport Australia Esports licence is the only requirement for those who qualify for this event.

The Tour concludes with the top 16 drivers, including two from Asia-Pacific, competing at the FIA Esports Global Rally Tour Finals held during the prestigious FIA Awards Week in Shanghai in December. This competition will involve a pre-event contest to determine the final two drivers who will compete head to head on the world’s stage at the FIA Awards Ceremony.
