The much-anticipated Mustang Supercar has been in the spotlight once again with Ford Australia launching its 2019 program.
Along with a variety of other brands to showcase the colours and cars in readiness for the 2019 season, Ford Australia released the first images of the new car in a special hype video.
Unlike the prototype used during development and the Supercars homologation process late last year, the car did not feature the camouflage livery that contained mixed reviews by those in the industry.
Instead, the car rocked the iconic blue stripe down the middle of the car, getting fans excited for what could be coming in 2019.
This year’s grid will feature six Mustangs with Tickford Racing running four cars and DJR Team Penske running the remaining two, including one for defending champion Scott McLaughlin.
While the 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship official liveries for both squads are yet to be revealed, both DJR and Tickford are aiming to release the livery within the week.
The motor sport world will get its first taste of all six Mustangs in action on 14 February with Phillip Island to host a special pre-season test.
