GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS

GT World Challenge Australia delivered two competitive races at Sydney Motorsport Park, with two different driver combinations taking victories across the weekend.

Oscar Targett and Shane Smollen opened the round with victory in the #56 Kollosche AMG by Tigani Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO.

Starting from pole, Smollen led the opening stint before Targett took over and guided the car to the win. Alex Peroni and Mark Rosser finished second, while Ryan Wood and Steve Brooks completed the podium for Team BRM.

Race two saw reigning champions Broc Feeney and Brad Schumacher take their turn at the top step in the #1 Kelso Electrical Melbourne Performance Centre Audi R8 LMS EVO II.

The pair moved into contention during the opening stint before taking the lead after the pit stop sequence.

They went on to secure the victory ahead of Brendon Leitch and Sergio Pires, with Valentino Astuti and Darren Currie claiming third for their first podium of the season.

In the class battles, Paul Stokell and Matt Stoupas took both Trophy Class victories, while Brett Hobson and Michael Sheargold secured Am Cup honours in both races.

The championship now heads to the bp Adelaide Grand Final on 26-29 November for the final round of the 2026 season.

Monochrome GT4 Australia

Monochrome GT4 Australia produced two competitive races at Sydney Motorsport Park, with the three classes providing plenty of close racing throughout the weekend.

In the Silver Cup, William Exton and Jack Johnson claimed the opening race in the #114 Team Soutar Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4, securing their second consecutive round victory.

Tom Hayman and Jett Murray finished second in the #25 Method Motorsport McLaren, before turning the tables in Sunday’s race to take victory.

Blake Tracey and George Miedecke finished second in the second race, while Blake Purdie and Jobe Stewart completed the podium.

Zac Soutar and Glenn Nirwan secured their first Silver-Am victory of the season in Saturday’s race, holding off Cody Burcher and Dean Campbell by less than a second.

Burcher and Campbell went one better on Sunday, taking class honours ahead of Caleb Paterson and Kent Quinn.

The Am Cup saw Glenn Walker take Saturday’s win for Gomersall Motorsport, finishing ahead of Ryan Sorensen and Nathan Callaghan and Chris Lillis.

Sunday’s race again went to Walker, with Callaghan and Lillis second and Jarrod Keyte third.

The results added another chapter to the respective class title battles as the 2026 season continues. The calendar wraps up from 30 October to 1 November at GT Festival Sandown in Victoria.

Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge

Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge produced a competitive weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park, with Xavier Avramides and Kobi Williams sharing the early session honours before Williams converted his pace into a race victory.

Williams controlled the opening race, leading Lincoln Taylor to the chequered flag despite a mid-race safety car closing up the field.

Hayden Haikal completed the outright podium, while Anthony Gilbertson continued his strong form in the Am Class with another class victory.

Sunday’s opening race saw Taylor return to the top step, taking a clear victory ahead of Williams and Haikal.

The result set up a close finish to the weekend, with Williams again among the leading contenders in the final race.

Williams looked set to secure another victory in the Sydney finale after building a 20-second lead heading into the final lap.

However, a tyre delamination forced him to slow and ultimately dropped him to fifth. The setback handed Sonic Motor Racing Services a one-two finish, with Avramides taking the win ahead of Haikal.

Ryan Suhle completed the podium, with Daniel Quimby fourth.

Despite missing out on a second victory, Williams’ strong weekend kept him firmly in contention in the Jim Richards Endurance Championship, as the final round prepares to take place at the Sandown Supercars round on 13-15 November.

Motorcraft Mustang Cup

The Motorcraft Mustang Cup produced two different winners at Sydney Motorsport Park, with Oli Wickham and Josh Anderson sharing the race victories across the weekend.

Triple Eight Race Engineering’s Wickham started the round on pole and converted it into victory in the opening race, leading home Ford Racing Driver Development Team member Cam McLeod and championship contender Joe Fawcett.

Fawcett’s podium was important in his pursuit of series leader Anderson, who finished fifth.

Wickham then backed up his race win by securing pole for the second encounter, earning the $4000 Driving Solutions prize after completing a clean sweep of the Ford Insure Pole Position Awards.

He led the early stages before Anderson made his move at halfway, passing Wickham to claim his fourth victory of the season.

Wickham held on for second to complete a strong weekend, while Patrick Tappett secured third on debut.

Tappett benefited from Fawcett losing third gear late in the race, ending the championship contender’s hopes of another podium.

Ben Dunn completed a clean sweep of the Dark Horse Legends class, taking both class victories across the Sydney Motorsport Park weekend.

The final round of the Motorcraft Mustang Cup takes place at GT Festival Sandown from 30 October to 1 November.

Ferrari Challenge Australasia

Ferrari Challenge Australasia concluded its second season at Sydney Motorsport Park, with Enzo Cheng securing the Trofeo Pirelli championship after a close finish to the season.

Cheng made a strong start to the final round, topping the opening session before going on to win Race 1 ahead of title rival Jim Pollicina.

The result reduced the gap between the pair heading into the final race, while Damian Hamilton remained in contention after finishing third.

The championship came down to the final race, with Cheng finishing second behind Steve Wyatt.

Pollicina crossed the line fourth, leaving the two drivers level on points.

Cheng secured the Trofeo Pirelli crown on countback, with his two race victories giving him the advantage over Pollicina’s single win.

Hamilton completed the final race podium to finish the season strongly, while Wyatt’s victory marked his second of the 2026 season.

In the Coppa Shell class, David Trewern secured the championship after finishing second in the final race.

His title came despite pressure from Masahiro Taguchi, whose Race 1 retirement proved costly. Aemel Nordin completed the final race podium.

Ross Tomain had already secured the Trofeo Pirelli 488 title at Queensland Raceway and continued his strong form with another class victory, before Andrei Cheng took the final race win.

Radical Cup Australia

Radical Cup Australia produced a strong weekend of racing at Sydney Motorsport Park, with Peter Paddon and Clint Hancock sharing the race victories.

Paddon set the pace throughout Friday practice, topping both sessions in his First Focus SR3 XXR.

He carried that form into Saturday’s opening race, holding off Chris Reindler and Bryce Moore in a close finish to claim the first victory of the weekend.

Hancock completed the outright podium while also taking Am Class honours.

Sunday’s final race saw Hancock move to the top step, leading an Arise Racing one-two-three. Reindler finished second ahead of teammate Moore, with Brad Russell crossing the line fourth.

Reindler and Moore secured the Pro-Am Class honours, while Hancock completed his strong weekend with another Am Class victory, joined on the class podium by Russell and Ibby Hadeed.

The sixth and final round of the Radical Cup Australia will feature as part of Island Magic from 20-22 November at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
