The Bend ready for Nationals

Tickets are now available for the Shannons Nationals visit to The Bend Motorsport Park.
Tickets for the next month’s Shannons Nationals at The Bend Motorsport Park are now on sale with five categories to be on show across three days of action.
 
With admission fees starting from $20 for a single day pass, two-day passes at just $30 and Friday’s session free to all, South Australian motor sport fans will be in for a treat.
 
 
Next month’s Nationals will give South Australians their first opportunity to see the new carsales TCR Australia Series in the flesh after two successful opening rounds thus far, with Will Brown comfortably leading the standings.
 
The CAMS Australian Endurance Championship is also part of the line up and will reach its midway point with its second of three rounds after Geoff Emery and Garth Tander took out the season opener in Phillip Island.
 
It will be the season finale for the CAMS PAYCE Australian Formula 4 Championship, with the category hosting another double round over the three days, with Luis Leeds in the box seat to claim his maiden championship.
 
Making its first appearance for 2019 at the Shannons Nationals is the National Sports Sedans Series as category legend Tony Ricciardello headlines the field ahead of young star Steven Tamasi.
 
The most recent addition to the Shannons’ bill is a special invitational round of Improved Production Cars with the category be open to anyone around the country who wants to showcase their skills on Australia’s newest world class circuit.
 
Shannons Nationals Director Michael Smith was thrilled to have the Improved Production Cars join an already impressive list of categories.
 
“We are delighted to have Improved Production Cars part of our visit to The Bend Motorsport Park and we can’t wait to watch them live,” Smith said.
 
“As it's an invitational round where anyone can join, it will allow competitors to go hard without having the added pressure to try and get points, so it should be fantastic racing.
 
“After two successful rounds already in New South Wales and Victoria, I am sure South Australian fans will get a lot of enjoyment out of the five categories on display, as well as enjoying the chance to see the new TCR cars live for the first time.”
 
The Bend Motorsport Park’s Managing Director Sam Shahin was also excited about next month’s carsales TCR Series Australia debut in the state.
 
“TCR has been a breath of fresh air in Australian motor sport this year,” Shahin said.
 
“It has injected new interest, attracted new participants, and given enthusiasts another reason to come out and enjoy the continuously evolving landscape of Australian motorsport. 
 
“We are thrilled to host the TCR series at The Bend in what promises to be another exciting instalment of the Shannons Nationals. 
 
“The Bend circuit will demand the best out of the drivers and their machinery; the fast and flowing circuit will be challenging.  Skills, courage and commitment will be necessary.”
 
The Shannons Nationals’ third round for 2019 will take place at The Bend Motorsport Park on 12 -14 July.
