Greg Hicks has found himself back on the podium’s top step with a well deserved NT Titles second round victory, after a difficult first outing earlier this year.

It was a solid performance from Hicks, with the pro-lite buggy pilot crossing the Hosetech 250 finish line first out of the 21-crew field and one minute ahead of second placed Andrew Mowles.

It was fairly different outcome compared to the round in March, where Hicks suffered a flat tyre on the second stage to fall from first to 10th before eventually climbing his way back to third.

This time round Hicks looked like a man on a mission, avoiding a similar fate to the first round to claim both the round win and the outright title thanks to fellow contender Alex Heinzel finishing 14th outright.

The event turned out to be dominated by the one category, as Locky Weir secured an all pro-lite podium after placing third outright.

Super 1650 Buggy class winner Jack Weir beat Extreme 2WD pilot Shannon Landers and the fastest UTV driver Harry Wekert to finish fourth outright and pick up the best of the rest.

Despite the event taking place on a difficult course, only five of the 21 crews were not classified after being unable to finish the event, including young gun Tim Button.

During the event, crews, officials and spectators also paid homage to the late Matt Morgan, releasing a number of balloons as a special tribute as well as the event being named the Matt Morgan Memorial.

More to come.
