Dean Amos has signed off his stellar 2019 account with another victory, this time taking out the final round of the Carrick Accounting & Business Services - Tighe CAMS 2019 Mt Cotton Hillclimb Series.

With more than 80 cars entered into the Queensland series finale. Amos proved to be too strong once again, posting the fastest time in every single one of his nine runs.

Behind the wheel of the Gould GR55B, Amos managed to secure the event as early as the third run, when he posted a sensational time of 36.24 seconds, breaking the Formula Libre record in the process.

In second place was another national star in Dean Tighe who was also the only other driver to break the 37 second barrier.

While Tighe was unable to beat Amos, the Dallara-Judd 4.0 pilot’s performance was still quote impressive as he was only able to complete four runs for the whole event, his 36.94 second time coming in just his second run for the day.

It was also a fantastic outing for Warwick Hutchinson, who finished the event in third place having only been able to compete in the first three runs of the event, in which he replaced Michael Von Rappard in his final run , who eventually settled for fourth place.

Rounding out the top five a further two seconds behind Von Rappard was Paul van Wijk who also led fellow class rivals Matthew Read and Jay Matsen in the outright standings.

As the open wheel Formula Libres managed to hold down the first seven positions, Greg Tebble was the best non-libre with the Van Diemen FF2000 beating another Formula libre pilot in Mitchell Allwood by just four hundredths of a second.

Rounding out the top 10 was the highest ranked non-open wheel car as Michael Larymore grabbed a well-deserved 10th place with his Toyota MR2.

Another notable result for the tin top cars was Sports Sedans - Up to 2000cc winner Ross Mackay who broke the class record and finished in 12th place outright behind Douglas Daniels.

The series now comes to a close with details for the 2020 season to be released shortly.
