The revised 2020 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge schedule has been confirmed with the popular one-make category to contest five rounds over the next five months.
A regular fixture on the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships in recent years, the category’s first four rounds will feature as part of every Shannons round this year, as well as joining up with Australian Racing Group for its inaugural Bathurst International in November.
Starting off at Sydney Motorsport Park on 15-16 August, the category will then run at Sandown in September, The Bend Motorsport Park and Phillip Island in October, before wrapping up the season at Mount Panorama in November.
The series has only been reduced by one event after its original calendar featured six rounds and Head of Motorsport at Porsche Cars Australia Troy Bundy was thrilled with the new schedule.
“We are pleased to reveal our revised Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge calendar for 2020,” Bundy said.
“(I) would like to take the opportunity to thank Motorsport Australia and the Australian Racing Group for the support they have given us in developing what we feel is a great line-up of events for the remainder of this season.
“We are looking forward to returning to the track and continuing to provide an excellent show for our fans, customers, teams and partners and we would like to thank them for their patience and support during this time.”
Porsche Cars Australia will release more details regarding the category’s race formats for each round, as well as the new Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia calendar, in the coming weeks.
