Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships on show to the world

Wednesday 20 January, 2021
The Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships will be broadcast internationally via popular streaming service, Motorsport.tv.
The Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships will reach a worldwide audience this year, with internationally renowned livestream broadcaster Motorsport.tv securing the international broadcast rights.

To be showcased via its online portal, Motorsport.tv will run every round of the Shannons Motorsport Australian Championships’ 2021 season including the Australian Racing Group’s Race Tasmania and Bathurst International events – excluding Australia and New Zealand.

The agreement ensures a global footprint for the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships, with the Seven Network the exclusive broadcast rights holder for television and online within Australia. An announcement on New Zealand’s broadcast partner will be announced shortly.

Ahead of the first meeting for the year, Australian Racing Group CEO Matt Braid was excited to welcome back Motorsport.tv for 2021.

“ARG is pleased to confirm that Motorsport.tv will bring the colour, speed and excitement of our great racing categories to its international audience in 2021,” Braid said.

“This relationship continues from our Motorsport.tv partnership in 2019, so it’s great to retain a strong and engaged partner.

“There’s something for everyone and we hope as many international viewers will enjoy the racing as much as we know the Australian and New Zealanders will.”

Motorsport.tv President Eric Gilbert echoed Braid comments and was equally as pleased to sign on for another year.

"Motorsport.tv is thrilled to carry the livestreams of all TCR Australia, S5000 and all of the racing that comes with the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships events in 2021,” Gilbert added.

“We offered live coverage of their last season in 2019 and had great response from racing fans around the world.”

A number of high-profile categories will be on show at this weekend’s event, including the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, VHT S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship and the GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS.

The Boost Mobile Race Tasmania takes place at Symmons Plains Raceway on 24-26 January, before heading to Baskerville Raceway on 29-31 January.
