The Australian Rally Hall of Fame will welcome some new inductees later this year when it holds a gala dinner during the Ranges Rallysprint in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges.
Taking place at the start of June, the fifth Australian Rally Hall of Fame gala dinner will see new inductees recognised for their large contributions to the sport over the years and join the 36 current members part of the Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame committee’s decision to run the event in line with the Ranges Rallysprint was made due to 15 past Australian Rally Champions confirmed to compete in the inaugural event.
The gala dinner is in good hands too with Ranges Rallysprint event organiser John Simpson and event director Jeremy Browne both working hard to put it together.
The rallysprint will run on 5-6 June with the Hall of Fame announcement to take place on the Saturday evening alongside a rally stage which has hosted London to Sydney Marathons and Round Australia trials, as well as RSEA Safety Motorsport Australia Rally Championship and Motorsport Australia SA Rally Championship rounds.
It’s been almost two years since the most recent gala dinner, with the 2019 edition hosted by Dean Herridge inducting five individuals and taking place on the eve of the 2019 Eureka Rally.
This year’s gala dinner will be the first to take place in South Australia with the first three having been hosted in Canberra between 2013 and 2015, including the inaugural event where 13 drivers, officials and administrators were inducted, before a further 18 were inducted over the next two.
