Perfect autumn conditions served as the perfect backdrop of a feast of motorsport on Saturday's Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships, with plenty of competitive racing across the field.

Backing up their Friday pole position efforts, Audi R8 drivers Liam Talbot and Chaz Mostert were victorious in the hour-long Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS race on Saturday afternoon.

Despite a solitary Hyundai Safety Car session, Talbot and Mostert managed to hold off Yasser Shahin and European star Christopher Mies by six seconds.

In the sub-classes, Gary Higgon and Paul Stokell topped the AM class, GT Trophy Series honours went to Brad Schumacher, and Ross Poulakis and Sam Brabham broke the Audi quadfecta to be victorious in a Mercedes AMG within the GT4 Cup Series.



Jay Hanson dominated Saturday's Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series sessions, securing pole and the opening race. Jordan Cox and Dylan O'Keeffe rounded out the podium.



Tim Macrow broke James Golding's streak of S5000 success at Phillip Island, with Golding claiming Race One honours and Macrow Race Two. S5000 will have one final race to conclude their weekend on Sunday.



Valentino Astuti remains the benchmark driver in the Australian Formula Ford Series, with a clean sweep of two race wins off the back of his Friday pole. The flowing nature of Phillip Island again suited the 18 car field, with competitive racing throughout the grid. Astuti only won Saturday morning's opening race by two-tenths over James Piszcyk.

 
Chris Perini clinched line honours in Radical Cup Australia's sole race on Saturday, after starting from second on the grid. Adam Lisle, who started Saturday's race from pole, dropped to fifth after the 13 lap race.

 
Ben Grice secured pole in Trans Am's shortened qualifying, after a dramatic crash by Adam Hargraves at the Southern Loop. However it was Herne who ended Saturday victorious, leading home Owen Kelly and Tim Brook.

The qualifying delays unfortunately interrupted Precision National Sports Sedan's running on Saturday, who will shift their races to Sunday.

 
Radical Cup Australia will open Sunday's Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships proceedings, with more than ten races on show for spectators.
