One of Australia’s most popular heritage motorsport events celebrating the 1949 Australian Grand Prix returns this month and fans can still purchase tickets to the event.

Taking place later this month, the Historic Leyburn Sprints will feature more than 300 historic, classic and performance cars, ranging from the 1920s to the modern-day. 

Over 50 categories will race their way through the suburban streets of Leyburn, where drivers will have seven attempts on the one-kilometre track to set the fastest time. 

The winner of each category will be presented with a trophy outside Leyburn’s historic 1863 Royal Hotel on Sunday afternoon. 

In addition to the sprints themselves, there will be plenty of activations the whole family can enjoy with a vintage caravan display, Shannons Show ‘n’ Shine, market stalls and much more.

Fans are encouraged to make their way out there for the annual event with tickets available to purchased online here. Adult tickets start from $25, while children under 14 can enter for free.

The Historic Leyburn Sprints takes place in Leyburn on 20-21 August.
