Logitech G Pro Invitational Cup resumes 2023 season at the Island

Wednesday 19 April, 2023
The Motorsport Australia Logitech G Pro Invitational Cup's second round will take place at Phillip Island.
After a historic opening round set at Sebring in the United States, the Motorsport Australia Logitech G Pro Invitational Cup continues this week with the second round of the season.

Taking place at the virtual Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, a strong field is entered in the Watercraft Performance Centre Phillip Island Super Sprint, with many looking to build on strong starts to the season.

Headlining the entry list are the stars of the season opener including championship leader Madison Down and round one podium getters Brady Meyers and James Scott – all three drivers sitting towards the top of the standings.

Meyers will enter the second round full of confidence following a strong effort in Sebring and a dominant performance last time the series was at the famous Victorian circuit.

While the opening round of the season was an enduring 45-lap race, it will be a different format for round two with drivers taking on the challenge of two demanding sprint races.

With a 20-minute qualifying session to set up the first race starting positions, race two’s grid order will be decided by the results from the first outing.

Tyre degradation will be one of the main factors drivers take into consideration at the circuit, however the compulsory pit stops in each race will prove just as vital as they are likely to determine the results.

Qualifying will take place at 7:50pm AEST, while the race will get underway at 8:15pm with the whole event to be broadcast live on YouTube.

The second round of the Motorsport Australia Logitech G Pro Invitational Cup takes place at Phillip Island on 19 April from 7:45pm AEST.
