The small, quiet town of Portland, New South Wales will be treated to some compelling khanacross action at the Yvonne Martyn Memorial Motorsport Park this weekend.  
 
The event is run by the Lithgow District Car Club (LDCC), who is known for its confounding support and promotion for local khanacross and motorkhana events at their custom-built “home ground” motorsport park.
 
This year's event is supported by the Wallerawang Community & Sports Club – who have provided valued support to the LDCC in the preparation for this weekend.  
 
Around 30 entries have been confirmed for the event, allowing for a wide range of cars on display to the benefit of both spectators and competitors alike.  
 
Competitors will battle it out for the fastest times as they tackle up to six different courses that offer a diverse range of obstacles which require immense skill and precision to challenge drivers of all experience levels.  
 
Each driver will run the course two times and will need to use each run to their advantage as much as possible as wet weather is forecast across the weekend – potentially setting up an exciting encounter and additional challenge to competitors.  
 
LDCC Treasurer, Les Taylor was thankful for the community support and looked forward to seeing the solid field battling it out.
 
“Having the Wallerwang Community & Sports Club on board this year has been huge, it is really good having some community backing behind the event,” Taylor said.  
 
“It looks like it could be quite wet, but we have had plenty of events run in the rain in the past and it adds a little bit of spice to it.”  
 
“With around 30 entrants signed up, it's going to be a great day.” 
 
The gates will open at 7am Sunday before official competition begins at 10am.
 
Spectators can attend the event free of charge, they will also be treated to a BBQ lunch and the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the cars in action as they battle it out for top spot.
