Aaron Ryland has walked away victorious from the Hervey Bay Motorsports Association's Khanacross event last month following a dominant performance.
The multi-club event was run across two days in the small town of Tinana, Queensland, where 48 competitors completed up to 12 runs across the event, designed to challenge competitors of all experience levels and classes.
With entrants divided into a collection of classes, including 0-2300, 2300+, Open, Women, Sub-junior and Junior, the 22-year-old Ryland powered through all 12 runs to comfortably win the event, as well as the Open class.
Despite facing early pressure from the likes of Sara Sinclair and Chris Hughes, Ryland still came away as the winner, beating Hughes by a comfortable margin of six seconds, while Sinclair rounded out the top three.
In addition to an outright podium, Sinclair also claimed top honours in the Women class, beating Sasha Power by seven seconds – the class runner-up coming away with fourth place overall and the Junior category win.
It was an impressive performance from John Butler to knock off Owen Greensill and finish fifth, as well as win the 0-2300 category.
Although Alan White in the 2300+ could not crack the top ten outright, he powered his way to class victory as he and his teammates, Krystal Power and Ben Hazelgrove, finished 21 seconds ahead of their nearest class rivals.
The final class winner was Charlie Powell in the sub-junior, beating Shanaya Armstrong by three seconds.
