Special Girls on Track AGP experience open for applications

Monday 22 January, 2024
The FIA Girls on Track Career Development and Mentoring event will return at the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2024.
After two successful years at the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix, the highly popular FIA Girls on Track Career Development and Mentoring event will return in 2024.

Taking place on the Thursday of this year’s Australian Grand Prix, the program will see young women aged 15-22 receive an unforgettable money-can’t-buy experience.

Some of the notable inclusions in the program are behind-the-scenes garage tours of the Kick F1 Team and a meet and greet with its drivers, networking opportunities with industry professionals, Q&A sessions with esteemed guest speakers and insightful discussions on career pathways.

The program’s distinguished Girls on Track Ambassadors will also be in attendance to help guide the event, with each to select a participant to mentor post-event.

One of the FIA Girls on Track Ambassadors who will be taking part is Krystina Emmanouilidis, who works with the Kick F1 Team as a Senior CFD Engineer.

“Each year this program gets bigger and better,” Emmanouilidis said.

“The opportunity this program brings is something I’d have relished as a youngster wanting to get into motorsport. Girls on Track gives us the chance to give back to the community and continue sparking interest for the next generations.”

Entry for this exclusive opportunity is limited, with just 20 participants selected and interested participants can register now via the FIA Girls on Track webpage for a chance to attend.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to submit their application through the ‘2024 Girls on Track – Career Development and Mentoring’ page and have until 11:59pm AEDT on Sunday, 4 February to do so. Applicants will be notified via email by Friday, 23 February with the status of their application.

Former Girls on Track Career Development and Mentoring participant Nadia Scurria praised the program after attending in 2023.

“The Girls on Track Career Development and Mentoring event at the 2023 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix was an unforgettable experience to say the least,” Scurria said.

“It was an incredible opportunity to participate in such an inspiring and exciting day. Being able to engage with others who share the same passions and be involved in an organisation committed to increasing female participation in motorsport is something that I will forever be grateful for.

“It is so rewarding to be a part of a community aimed at helping women pursue their passion in the motorsport and automotive industry. I truly believe women have a place outside the box (unless it’s a commentary box) and the Girls on Track program is definitely a step in the right direction to follow their dreams and aspirations.”

Since taking part in the 2023 program, Nadia secured roles at last year’s MotoGP and this year’s Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.
