Tuesday 30 January, 2024
The entry list for the Bathurst 12 Hour is confirmed.
The entry list for the 2024 Repco Bathurst 12 Hour has been confirmed with a world-class field to do battle on the famous Mount Panorama circuit.

Doubling up as the season opener for both the 2024 Intercontinental GT Challenge and the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS, a field of 31 entries will contest the main event.

Attracting teams and manufacturers from all around the world, nine brands will be on show across the weekend while there will be 11 international cars to run – the most since 2020.

Boasting the largest collection of cars will be defending champions Mercedes-AMG, who will field 10 cars for the race as they equal the most-ever competing cars by a single brand in Bathurst 12 Hour history.,

Although Mercedes is one of the powerhouses for the event, it’s Porsche’s new 992 GT3Rs, which make their Bathurst debuts this year that could serve up the biggest challenge for the victory,

McLaren will make its grand return to the 12 Hour for the first time since 2020 with two cars in the GT4 class, while BMW will also bring a pair of M4 GT3s – one of which is headlined by motorsport legend, Valentino Rossi.

There will be 12 cars in the professional class vying for top spot, with a variety of big names behind the wheel of these cars, including the great Craig Lowndes, IndyCar champion Paul Tracy and a host of Repco Supercars Championship stars, led by Chaz Mostert.

Event Director Shane Rudzis was pleased a diverse and strong field would be battling it out at the growing event once again.

“Good luck picking a winner from this field,” Rudzis said.

“The 2024 grid marks a return to the depth of competition that we saw before the pandemic, with international teams and drivers returning on mass to the Mountain.

“2023 was a great race but the depth and quality of this field is even better, so it has all the makings of another incredible show.

“To attract 11 overseas entries, up from 4 last year, is a positive development and shows the race continues to have significant overseas interest – which is only going to get stronger with the advent of Ferrari, Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Corvette, among others, already planning to be on the grid in 2025.

“In the meantime, this will be an incredible show and another Bathurst enduro for the ages.”
