Motorsport Australia is saddened to hear of the passing of popular motorsport figure, Beverley “Bevo” Brock OAM.
Long-time partner of the late great Peter Brock, Beverley will forever be known as the backbone of Peter’s stature during his longstanding and successful career.
Born in 1947 in Western Australia, Beverley was one of seven children, and began her professional life as a well-respected teacher.
Beverley went on to be a successful educator before venturing into a number of other professions that included life counsellor, author, environmentalist and road safety advocate.
However, it was a three-decade-long partnership with Peter Brock that she would forever be known for within the motorsport community – both as his biggest supporter and an integral part of his fame and success.
A regular figure in the paddock, Beverley took on multiple roles during his racing weekends, with her most notable being the organiser of large signing sessions for his fans.
Outside of motorsport, Beverley dedicated her life to helping others and was heavily involved in charities such as The Skyline Foundation, where she sat on the Board, was a public speaker for Melbourne Rotary and a patron for the Lighthouse Foundation.
However, her biggest contribution to the public was via the Brock Foundation, which was aimed at disadvantaged youth and those who experienced difficulties.
Beverley was first honoured for her charitable contributions in 2001, when she was named as a recipient of the Prime Minister's Centennial Medal, before being awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2016.
Beverley is survived by three children and seven grandchildren.
