Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia will set its sights on the iconic Mount Panorama Circuit for the first time in its brief history as part of a revamped calendar announced for next year.
The category, in the middle of its first season on Australian shores, has announced a provisional six-round calendar for its second season in 2027.
The one-make series will continue its partnership under the SRO Motorsports Group’s SpeedSeries banner, competing at all five SRO events.
This will take the Mustang Dark Horse Rs across four states and include its first appearance at Bathurst’s Mount Panorama Circuit.
The 2027 calendar remains provisional, with one event, the season finale, to be confirmed in due course.
Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia Series Manager Liam Curkpatrick announced it is fantastic to continue with SRO Motorsports Australia as a premium category into 2027.
“Our competitors have really enjoyed the opening three rounds with SRO at its SpeedSeries events, so it’s great to confirm that our second year will have consistency for all,” said Curkpatrick said.
“Like 2026, we will run a six round series next year, so we still have one event to lock away. We are talking to various parties and confirmation of that will come in the near future.”
Next year’s series will commence in April on the famed Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, the venue that hosted the inaugural round of Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia earlier this year.

The series will return to The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia in May, an under lights event at Sydney Motorsport Park in July before at Queensland Raceway in September.
The Ford Mustang Dark Horse R will then tackle ‘The Mountain’ for the first time in what could be the series finale around the famed 6.213km.
Ford Mustangs need no introduction to Mount Panorama, having raced on the Bathurst circuit since the 1960s with names such as Norm Beechey and Bob Jane before icons Allan Moffat and Dick Johnson led the charge into the following decades.
“Adding Bathurst to our schedule is very exciting. Mount Panorama is the perfect location for our Dark Horse Rs, and we know that we are going to produce some great racing there,” Curkpatrick added.
Three rounds remain in the 2026 Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia, with the series travelling to the Northern Territory for the next round at Hidden Valley Raceway on 24-26 July.
Further details about the 2027 season for the series will be announced in due course.
