Registrations are now open for the next FIA Girls on Track Pathways event, with Walkinshaw TWG Racing to provide participants with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at one of Australia’s leading motorsport organisations.
On Thursday 3 September, ‘FIA Girls on Track Pathways at Walkinshaw TWG Racing x Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia, supported by Supercheap Auto’ will welcome up to 33 participants aged 15-22 years to Walkinshaw TWG Racing’s Melbourne headquarters, where they will gain first-hand insight into the array of career opportunities available within the motorsport industry.
Showcasing the many roles that exist beyond the racetrack, participants will take part in interactive workshops led by Walkinshaw TWG Racing staff across a range of departments, including Corporate Hospitality and Events, Commercial (Partnerships and Media), Engineering, Driving, and Mechanics and Preparation.
“We’re proud to partner with Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia and Supercheap Auto to bring Girls on Track to Walkinshaw TWG Racing,” Bruce Stewart, Walkinshaw TWG Racing CEO said.
“Our focus is on bringing the best people into our team, irrespective of gender, background, and funding.
“So, giving 30 girls the chance to learn, grow and showcase what they’re capable of is exactly why programs like this matter – and why we’re committed to supporting a pipeline of young talent into our sport.”
The hands-on experience will provide attendees with valuable industry knowledge while allowing them to connect with professionals currently working in elite motorsport.
Motorsport Australia Development Manager Charlie Barlow said the event will continue the FIA Girls on Track Pathways program’s mission of inspiring the next generation of women in motorsport.
“Experiences like these give participants a genuine understanding of what a career in motorsport can look like,” Barlow said.
“Working alongside an organisation like Walkinshaw TWG Racing allows participants to hear directly from industry professionals, build valuable connections and develop a greater understanding of the opportunities available in the industry.”
The FIA Girls on Track Pathways program is designed to inspire girls and women aged 15-22 to explore careers throughout the motorsport industry by providing unique experiences with leading teams, organisations and businesses.
Applications for the Walkinshaw TWG Racing event are open now and will close on Friday 7 August, unless capacity is reached earlier.
As places are limited, all prospective participants are required to submit an application, with Victorian applicants to be prioritised in the selection process.
