Formula 1 – Spa-Francorchamps

Oscar Piastri produced a stable drive to finish fifth at the Belgian Grand Prix, salvaging a solid points haul despite despite an early contact incident at the start of the race at Spa-Francorchamps.

Starting from sixth on the grid, the Australian #81 made a clean getaway and settled into the battle for the top five as Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli controlled the race from the front.

McLaren struggled to match the outright speed of Mercedes, Ferrari, and Max Verstappen’s Red Bull across the weekend, leaving Piastri to focus on extracting the maximum from his package rather than fighting for a podium.

He drove measuredly, avoiding any further incidents, including the opening-lap collision between George Russell and Lewis Hamilton that ended Russell’s race.

Although Piastri was unable to gain ground on the leading quartet of Antonelli, Charles Leclerc, Verstappen and Hamilton, he comfortably secured fifth place ahead of the midfield pack.

The result marked another consistent finish and finished ahead of teammate Lando Norris, adding valuable championship points before Formula 1 heads to Hungary for the final round before the summer break.

Formula 3 – Spa-Francorchamps

James Wharton continued his FIA Formula 3 season at Spa-Francorchamps, showing glimpses of a points-producing performance.

The PREMA Racing driver was competitive throughout the weekend and delivered a mostly solid drive in Saturday’s Sprint Race. Unfortunately, a post-race five-second penalty for forcing another driver off the circuit saw him relegated to 27th.

Wharton responded positively in Sunday’s Feature Race, producing another composed and mature performance around one of Formula 3’s most demanding circuits.

Wharton ultimately finished outside the top 10 in 17th just behind teammate Louis Sharp. Wharton will now turn his attention to the final round before the Formula 3 summer break at the Hungaroring this weekend.

GT4 European Series – Misano

Aussie youngster Lachlan Evennett has podiumed once again, this time on the bottom step in P3, within the Pro class in Race 1 of the European GT4 Round 4 at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy.

Evennett had his work cut out for him from the race start, beginning all the way back from P14 on the grid after a less than ideal qualifying session.

Lachlan, alongside teammate Mees Houben, took the car over in P10 after the driver change and with an excellent second stint brought it home in third.

Onlookers were treated to a superb double overtake by Evennett late in the race to get to his final P3 position.

The pair concluded a strong weekend with a P7 in Race 2, that time starting from 18th on the grid.

Kyojo Cup – Fuji

Round 2 of the 2026 Kyojo Cup returned to Fuji Speedway with Aussies Joanne Ciconte and Paige Raddatz back behind the wheel to resume their overseas campaigns.

Both women began the round with solid qualifying sessions, as Raddatz put together the seventh-fastest lap, just half a second off pole position with a time of 1:52.994. Ciconte was just behind in eighth wit a 1:53.001.

Raddatz would incur a time penalty in the first of two races for the weekend, solidfiying her in 11th place. Ciconte’s experience shone through, improving her finishing position up to sixth after the 10-lap sprint.

Ciconte continued her rise up the order in the 15-lap feature race, missing out on the podium by just one position finishing the session fourth, but adding some decent points in the process.

Raddatz returned to her composed best, finishing Race 2 in sixth and making up for lost points from the opening race.

Ciconte sits third in the Kyojo Cup standings with 36 points, 11 behind early frontrunner Aimi Saito.

Raddatz is close behind in ninth on five points, but she will be buoyed by her highest finish of the season heading into Round 3 back at Fuji.

Indy NXT

Lochie Hughes, Nicolas Stati and Jack Beeton all added another chapter to their Indy NXT campaigns at the Music City Grand Prix, with the trio tackling the challenging Nashville Superspeedway’s high-speed concrete oval.

Hughes continued to strengthen his championship credentials with another competitive weekend, setting the pace in practice before qualifying among the frontrunners and racing inside the top group throughout Sunday’s 65-lap contest.

The Andretti Global driver secured another strong points finish in seventh, to remain firmly in the title fight heading into the final rounds of the season.

Further back, rookie teammates Nicolas Stati and Jack Beeton continued their development with Cusick Morgan Motorsports and HMD Motorsports.

Both Australians delivered composed performances, as Beeton finished in eighth and Stati further back in 15th.

Both continued to build confidence and race craft adding another important weekend of experience to their resumes before the next round at Portland International Raceway for the fourth-final round of the Indy NXT season.

International GT Open – Le Castellet

The International GT Open rolled on at Circuit Paul Ricard over the weekend where Christian Mansell put on another respectable performance on the international stage.

Again representing Team Motopark, Mansell began the weekend as the Qualifying 1 driver and delivered a 10th-fastest lap to place the car on the fifth row of the grid with a 2:02.980 round trip.

Mansell and co-driver Maximilian Gotz delivered an inspired performance in Race 1 for the weekend, jumping seven spots to claim a podium result. The pair drove their Mercedes AMG GT3 Evo to third and continued their strong campaign.

The pair added a fourth-place result in Qualifying 2, giving them a strong starting position in the latter feature race. It deservedly set them up with a runner-up result in Race 2.

Mansell and Gotz continue their chase of championship leaders Tom Emsom and Tom Lebbon, who failed to classify in Race 1 before bouncing back with a race win in Race 2. Drivers head to Hockenheim on 14 September.

Porsche Supercup – Spa-Francorchamps

Porsche Supercup drivers travelled to Belgium for the fourth round of the season, including Australian rookie Caleb Sumich and Sam Shahin.

The former got off to a strong start, finishing inside the top 10 during Free Practice, while Shahin did well to finish inside the top 20.

Sumich dropped several spots in qualifying, only managing the 15th-fastest lap time after 10 laps. Shahin’s finish in 21st more closely reflected his Free Practice efforts.

Sumich improved slightly in the race, completing the 12-lap session in 14th. Shahin became involved in an incident on lap 6 getting spun around, failing to classify as a result.

Formula Regional European Championship – Le Castellet

The Circuit Paul Ricard laid the backdrop for the most recent round of the Formula Regional European Championship and Aussie representatives Noah Lisle and Alex Ninovic.

Ninovic and Lisle experienced somewhat differing fortunes during the latest round, with Ninovic collecting a pair of points finishes while Lisle continued to gain valuable experience in the highly competitive field.

Ninovic showed impressive speed from the outset, finishing third in the opening practice session before backing it up with fourth and sixth in the two qualifying sessions for the group.

The Australian converted that into consistent race results, finishing 10th in Race 1 to score a championship point before improving to eighth in Race 2 after another composed drive through the 30-minute contest.

The weekend highlighted Ninovic’s growing consistency, with the young Australian regularly featuring inside the leading group and adding another solid points haul to his campaign.

For Lisle, the weekend was one of continued development as he worked to unlock more pace around the French circuit.

After finishing 30th and 29th in the practice sessions, he finished qualifying in 14th and 15th in his group. Although he finished 25th and 26th in the races, some bright spots demonstrated encouraging progress.

The penultimate round of the championship takes place in Imola from 4-6 September.

E4 Championship – Circuit Paul Ricard

Noah Killion enjoyed another encouraging weekend in the E4 Championship at Circuit Paul Ricard, producing a series of competitive performances across the category’s three-race format.

The Australian made an immediate impression in Race 1, charging from 12th on the grid to finish sixth after a strong 30-minute contest.

A combination of overtaking and consistent speed allowed Killion to gain six positions and secure one of his best results of the season.

Race 2 proved far less rewarding, with Killion lining up 10th before his race came to an early end following contact in the opening stages.

The incident forced him into retirement and denied him the opportunity to challenge for another strong result.

Undeterred, Killion responded positively in the final race.

Starting 10th again, he drove a clean and composed race to climb into ninth before the event finished under yellow flags, adding another top-10 finish to his weekend.

Killion will now turn his attention to the final round of the E4 Championship at Monza on 9-11 October, where he will be aiming to finish the season strongly.
