IndyCar – Markham
Will Power produced a remarkable recovery drive at the Markham IndyCar event, climbing from 25th on the grid to finish third after a race shaped by multiple cautions and differing pit strategies.
The Australian made steady progress through the field while avoiding the incidents that eliminated several frontrunners.
After a strong restart following a late caution, Power found himself in contention for the podium and opted to stay out during a decisive pit sequence before eventually making his final stop under yellow.
Power then charged forward as several drivers ahead struggled with fuel conservation and tyre wear.
With nine laps remaining, he was running third behind Romain Grosjean and eventual winner Marcus Ericsson.
Ericsson made a series of aggressive moves to move into the lead, while Power held his position and eventually passed Alex Palou with five laps remaining to secure the final podium place.
The result marked Power’s third podium of the 2026 IndyCar season and a significant recovery after a qualifying session that left him starting 25th.
The result also saw Power finish alongside teammate Ericsson, who claimed his first IndyCar victory since 2023.
IndyCar returns on 24 August for the Freedom 250 on the streets of Washington.
USF2000 – Markham
Brad Majman and Eddie Beswick enjoyed a standout weekend at the Markham stop of the USF2000 season, with both Australian drivers securing podium finishes across the two races.
Majman opened the weekend with a strong second-place finish in Race One for Pabst Racing, keeping his championship challenge firmly on track.
Starting second after the cancellation of qualifying, the Melbourne driver ran at the front throughout the race, settling into second behind eventual winner Sebastian Garzon.
Beswick also showed strong pace, having topped the sole practice session before moving ahead of Majman early in Race One.

However, his race was turned upside down on the opening lap when he was caught in an incident involving Joao Vergara.
Dropping as far as 21st, Beswick produced an impressive recovery drive to finish seventh.
Race Two proved considerably more chaotic, with multiple incidents and several aborted restarts.
Majman again ran at the front and moved into the lead during the race before a late clash between Anthony Martella and Garzon eliminated both of his major championship rivals.
Majman avoided the carnage and was classified as the winner after the race finished under caution, securing his third victory of the season.
Beswick completed a remarkable turnaround of his own, moving through the field to claim third and join his teammate on the podium.

The result marked his first podium of the Markham weekend and capped a strong recovery after Saturday’s difficulties.
Majman’s victory moved him to within 13 points of championship leader Garzon with three races remaining in the season, while Beswick’s podium effort further highlighted Pabst Racing’s strength on the challenging new street circuit.
The next and final stop of the 2026 USF2000 season is at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, from 24-26 September.
British GT Championship – Snetterton

The pair qualified 10th in GT3 for the opening race, before improving to fourth in GT3 in Q2, securing pole position in the Silver-Am class.
They converted that pace into a seventh-place GT3 finish in Race 1 before producing an even stronger result in Race 2.
Buchan and Campbell crossed the line fifth overall in GT3, while taking second in Silver-Am, capping a competitive weekend for the Aussie pair.

The #13 Ferrari featured prominently in the early stages of Race 2, with Buchan running inside the top six and leading the Silver-Am battle during the opening stint.
The result was ultimately Rodin’s best British GT performance of the season to date, with the car demonstrating improved pace throughout the weekend.
Their fifth-place finish also came after a close fight at the sharp end of the GT3 field, with the result contributing to a significant haul of points in the Silver-Am standings.
Two rounds remain in the 2026 British GT Championship, with rounds to be held at Donington Park and Brands Hatch next month.
Carrera Cup Germany – Nurburgring
Sam Shahin and Caleb Sumich produced solid class results in the latest round of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland at the Nürburgring, with both Australians featuring prominently in their respective categories.
Sumich enjoyed a particularly strong weekend, showing front-running pace from the outset. He qualified sixth for both races after finishing eighth in free practice, before converting that speed into a pair of top-10 finishes.

The Target driver crossed the line sixth overall in Race 1, securing second in the Rookie classification, before finishing ninth in Race 2 and taking third among the Rookies.
Shahin faced a more challenging weekend in outright pace, qualifying 31st for both races after placing 23rd in practice.
