It records the basic specification of the car, its Historic group, its competition history and its chain of ownership. All historic vehicles must have a historic log book.
It applies to all cars with a competition history, plus Group T (competition variants). Vehicles in Groups N & S only require a historic logbook and are covered by vehicle specification sheets.The Certificate of Description covers the detailed technical specification of the car, in words and in pictures, and provides the information required for eligibility checking. CoDs are sub-divided into three types according to their originality, specification and visual appearance of the subject vehicle, and the HEC and HPBEC reserve the right to determine what grade of CoD will be issued.
