Tasmania Club day to take over Baskerville

The MG and Mini Car Clubs of Tasmania are running a join Club Day this month.

The MG and Mini Car Clubs of Tasmania will be having a joint club day this weekend with Baskerville Raceway to host the event.

Showcasing the many aspects of grassroots circuit track days, the event will see participants get an opportunity to do a sighting of the track, timed laps and take part in a circuit sprint.

Open to anyone who is a member of an associated club of Motorsport Australia, more than 20 drivers have confirmed their entry for the event.

Some of the notable names on the entry list include in the 2020 Peter Bondy Trophy winner Craig Twining and experienced motorsport competitors Damian Midgley and Tony Sutcliffe.

Event spokesperson Marcus Hart was looking forward to the day.

“It’s a great fun day to bring your car and compete around one of the best race tracks in Australia,” Hart said.

“The process is a driver’s briefing followed by a familiarisation lap, timed laps and then competitors are split into groups of four and timed.

“They are low stress days, trophies for various categories and there is a basic BBQ for food.”
