Formula 1 – Miami
Formula 1 was back on track in Miami after a lengthy break and Oscar Piastri continued to find form and championship points after a disappointing start to the season.
Piastri secured P3 in Sprint Qualifying behind McLaren teammate Lando Norris and current Championship leader, Kimi Antonelli. In the Sprint Race, the young Victorian made use of Antonelli’s poor start to position himself in second behind Norris, where he would remain for the remainder of the race.
Qualifying for Piastri was a slightly different story, with windy and hot conditions producing a messy session and a fourth row grid position for the race.
The Miami Grand Prix was moved to an earlier start time after heavy rain and thunderstorms were predicted in it’s original slot. The race saw a Safety Car early on after Pierre Gasly and Isaac Hadjar crashed in separate incidents. Piastri had a great restart, overtaking George Russell, and maintaining a strong position in the top four for the majority of the race. In the final lap, Piastri managed a smooth overtake on Leclerc to gain a podium position and secure a third place finish and a valuable 22 championship points. A podium finish sees Piastri in sixth place with 43 points behind Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris with 51 points, Charles Leclerc on 59 points, George Russell on 80 points and Kimi Antonelli on 100 points.
Formula 1 will now move to the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve for the Canadian Grand Prix on the 23-25 May.

European Le Mans Series – Le Castellet
Griffin Peebles and the United Autosports team demonstrated an impressive performance in the 4 Hours of Le Castellet, winning outright and moving into the lead of the 2026 European Le Mans Series (ELMS).
Joined by teammates Ben Hanley and Gregoire Saucy, Peebles started off the hunt for a win after the team qualified P2 outright. The young Australian showed impressive speed taking the lead at the end of the first lap and building a 10 second gap before handing over the car. It was Hanley who fought through to take the team to the line nine seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
This victory is the first for United Autosports in the LMP2 class in nearly three years.
Peebles was also awarded the Goodyear Wingfoot award, a fan-voted award for the best driver of the weekend.

In LMP2 Pro-Am, it was James Allen alongside teammates Alex Quinn and Kriston Lentoudis that demonstrated fantastic race craft with a class win and P8 outright. After a less than ideal qualifying session that saw them start last in class, the #27 car put in an impressive performance to secure Nielsen’s third ELMS class win and a large points haul to place them fourth in the LMP2 Pro-Am standings.

This weekend marked Jack Doohan’s second appearance in ELMS with Nielsen Racing. Doohan, alongside Roy Nissany and Edward Pearson qualified P4 in the LMP2 class, but after a tough race the trio finished P10 in class and P22 outright.
Tom Sargent and Garnet Patterson also featured in Le Castellet in the LMGT3 class. Sargent qualified P4 and finished fifth in class and P35 outright, with the Proton Competition team, resulting in moving down to second place in the LMGT3 class standings. Meanwhile, Patterson endured a less than ideal weekend with the United Autosports team, securing P14 in qualifying and P12 in the race.
The European Le Mans Series takes a small break as it turns towards the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 13-14 June 2026.
