Heritage Touring Cars has released its 2020 calendar with visits to five states and a round held as part of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships.
Starting next month, the category will open its year as part of the Victorian Historic Racing Register’s Phillip Island Classic at the iconic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, where more than 500 entries are expected to take part.
The Heritage Touring Cars will then move north for the Historic Racing Car Club’s Autumn Historic Warwick at Morgan Park Raceway in Queensland.
The series then joins a massive line-up of categories for June’s Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships round at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia. Some of the categories to feature as part of the round will include the fast-growing carsales TCR Australia Series, S5000 Australia and the Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia.
Featuring cars from the golden age of touring car racing, the next event will be a fitting touch for the season’s fourth outing as the category races under lights alongside the Muscle Car Masters, Group C, A and N cars in September’s Master Blast at Sydney Motorsport Park.
The season will then conclude just two weeks later as part of the Baskerville Historics in Tasmania on 26-27 September, where the Heritage Touring Cars have been a regular at for the past two years.
