TCR Australia competitors will get another opportunity to showcase their talents on the simulator with the series’ second virtual season to run on the acclaimed WSC TCR SimRacing platform.
The new seven-round TCR Australia SimRacing Series will allow drivers and teams from the carsales TCR Australia Series to use their own car brand with real livery on some of Australia’s biggest circuits.
Using the popular Assetto Corsa software that TCR Europe used for its own online competition during the COVID-19 lockdown period, the 18 selected drivers will be racing for real world prizes, including free entry into the real world competition.
Ahead of the category’s debut into the globally promoted virtual series, Australian Racing Group CEO Matt Braid was excited for the online platform of racing to continue.
“The carsales TCR Australia SimRacing Series is going to be a great way to continue the online racing theme as the world begins to emerge from lockdown,” Braid said.
“The ARG eSport Cup has been a terrific initiative and now we are able to follow this up with an internationally promoted series specifically featuring TCR Australia
“The program that the WSC Group has put together, with most of the TCR car brands involved, is a fantastic real-world representation of TCR Series racing, and ARG is proud to be the second series from around the world to be selected to compete on the platform.”
The seven-round series begins at Albert Park on 18 June and concludes in Macau on 3 September with more more details on the series to be released shortly.
