Karting star continues Aussie run in British F4

Marcos Flack will race in the British Formula 4 Championship this year.
Marcos Flack is the latest Australian to confirm his international plans for 2021, with the teenager joining Argenti Motorsport in the British Formula 4 Championship.

Having enjoyed a successful nine-years in karting both in Australia and overseas, Flack earned his seat with the English outfit thanks to an impressive series of tests during the off season.

The 14-year-old also boosted his profile late last year after reaching the world final of Ferrari Driver Academy's scouting programme and finishing second behind fellow Australian James Wharton.

Flack’s inclusion means that an Australian has competed in the championship every year since its inception in 2015 and the Queenslander will now follow the footsteps of Christian Mansell, who won the Rookie Cup last year.

With Argenti Motorsport’s best ranked driver in 2020 being Casper Stevenson, who enjoyed a number of race wins and podiums to finish third on the overall standings, Flack was excited about the prospect of this year.

“I'm really excited to confirm I'll be racing for Argenti Motorsport in the F4 British Championship this season," Flack said.

"Testing with the team has been really positive; I’ve enjoyed driving the car and starting to learn some of the UK circuits.

"It's an excellent championship, and the perfect place for me to make the step up into single seaters. It’s important to make a mark at this level, like many of the previous drivers have done, so I’ll be aiming to do the same.

"I can't wait to get going, and I'm very excited about what the season ahead will bring."

Team Principal Michael Meadows was also pleased to sign Flack this year.

“It's great to have Marcos unveiled as an Argenti Motorsport driver for 2021," Meadows said.

"There’s no doubt he’s a serious talent, his performances in testing last year were very impressive, he's clearly got a bright future ahead of him and we're excited to play a role in his development.

"Our first season in British F4 was good - we won races, took podium finishes at every meeting bar one and had all three cars regularly mixing it in the top ten.

"There is always more to be done, we are pushing to make the small gains, and I'm confident Marcos will prove an asset to the team as we continue that push forward."

Flack becomes just the fifth driver to confirm their place in the 2021 British Formula 4 Championship, which begins at Brands Hatch on 3-4 April.
