A record number of competitors will make up the National Trans Am Series’ fourth round of the season this weekend with 30 cars part of the entry list.
Taking place during a jam packed Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships schedule at Sydney Motorsport Park, the 30-strong field will enjoy three races over the course of the weekend.
Amongst the many impressive Ford Mustangs, Chevrolet Camaros and Dodge Challengers are plenty of notable entries, the highest-profile being the entertaining battle between Aaron Seton in a Mustang and Nathen Herne in a Challenger.
The duo have been wrestling for top honours for much of the season, with each sharing race wins across the previous three rounds. Just two points now separate them on the standings, the ledger currently sitting with the number one seed in Seton.
A further 80 points below in third place is youngster Edan Thornburrow who has been highly consistent all year round, despite yet being able to finish a race on the podium.
Experienced drivers Tim Brook, Hadrian Morrall and Owen Kelly are also locked in for the fourth round, the latter having been the only other driver outside of Seton and Herne to win a race this yea - that victory coming in Phillip Island last month.
Ron Mollar and Adam Hargraves will make their series debuts, as will Steve Coulter who replaces his son Michael in the Kobelco Racing Mustang.
Shaun Richardson and Anthony Tenkate will make their first series appearance since February 2020, while Zac Loscialpo, Paul Freestone, Jason Hassett, Tim Shaw and Brett Holdsworth will all make their returns having missed the third round in Bathurst.
Other noteworthy entrants include Ben Grice, Hugh McAlister and two-time podium placer Kyle Gurton in the Garage 1 Morris Finance Racing Ford Mustang.
No tickets will be available at the gates, with all fans encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets before they arrive at Sydney Motorsport Park to save time.
Fans will also be able to watch a large portion of the action live and free on 7plus and 7mate with Saturday and Sunday to be broadcast, while New Zealand viewers can tune into the round via Sky New Zealand and overseas fans can watch via Motorsport.tv.
