The Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships hosts its third event this month with Sydney Motorsport Park to hold a jam-packed schedule.

Already the opening two rounds of the year have proved quite the hit with the motorsport community – March’s hugely successful opener in Phillip Island backed up by an epic Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour last month.

For the third event of the year, fans will once again be the big winners with a spectacular line up of eight national categories to enjoy lots of racing action – many of the sessions of which will take place under lights.

Th categories on show include the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship (competing for the Motorsport Australia Gold Star), Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge, Turtle Wax Trans Am Series, Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters, Australian Production Cars, Radical Cup Australia and the GC Marine Australian Prototype Series.

The action begins on Friday at 8.30am with every category enjoying practice sessions throughout the day. The majority will then move on to qualifying under lights on Friday night, before Saturday’s action begins at 9am.

Saturday will feature a mammoth 11 races across the day, with TCR’s opening race under lights from 6.45pm.

Sunday then sees a further 12 races take place from 7.20am through to the event’s final race, with TCR’s third and final race bookending the weekend from 4.10pm.

Motorsport Australia Director of Motorsport & Commercial Operations Michael Smith said the next round of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships promised to be one of the best yet.

“With 23 races across the weekend, fans are in for something very special,” Smith said.

“The opportunity to watch so many high quality, national categories in one place is certainly very rare and to see so much racing across the three days will make it a weekend to remember.

“All fans will also be able to access the pit paddock and also be part of selected grid walks prior to races. The best part is, all of this is possible with the one very affordable general admission ticket, which can now be purchased from motorsporttickets.com.au.

“You won’t get a much better motorsport experience than this and being in Sydney, we know it’s a great opportunity to make a weekend of it and enjoy everything the harbour city has to offer.”

Tickets for the event are still on sale and available from the link below. All of Friday’s sessions are free for patrons, however all attendees must register for their ticket.
