The Mid Murray Motorplex in South Australia will welcome the nation’s best khanacross drivers this weekend for the Woodcroft Car Care Motorsport Australia Khanacross Championship.

More than 35 entrants have been confirmed for what is expected to be an exciting two-days of non-stop action, with multiple tracks running simultaneously to provide spectators with more than they first bargained for.

The drivers immense skill and perception will also be put on display as each track has the potential to run in reverse throughout the weekend.

Secretary of the Event, Stephany Broad, was looking forward to finally getting the chance to hold the event after two long years.

“We are absolutely excited to be running this event in 2022 and we have been putting a lot of work into the track, so it should be ready and looking good ahead of September,” Broad said.

“There are a number of former champions to be in attendance, which is fantastic.”

The 2019 Australian Motorkhana Champion, Aaron Wuillemin is one of the many notable entrants for this weekend’s event, alongside 2021 SA Khanacross class champion Adam Tillett.

Fans will also get the opportunity to see state rally drivers in action with the likes of Dale and Nicholas Cagney taking the field, as well as 2019 RSEA Safety Motorsport Australia 2WD Rally champion, Ethan Pickstock.

Reigning Australian Khanacross champion, Bradley Clements will be looking to add to his impressive resume in this year’s edition of the event alongside his father, Michael Clements, who will also be competing.

Ahead of the event, Michael was excited at the prospect of returning to South Australia at the national level, and has his eyes set on a podium finish.

“It’s nice to be back competing at a national level and having the ability to move around from state to state and have the national championships again,” Michael said.

“I’m pretty excited to have it back in South Australia nine years after the running of the first event in Atlantic Park, there are new bits of the track nobody has competed on before, as we have had quite a bit of rain here which will be interesting.”

“I only ever hope for the car to finish firstly, but I aim to be on the podium, no matter what step its on.”

The event has free entry for anybody who is interested in attending this weekend, with plenty of spectator viewing available around the U-shaped area.

The Motorsport Australia Khanacross Championship takes place on 9-11 September at the Mid Murray Motorplex in South Australia.
