Thursday 15 September, 2022
There will be 20 drivers vying for a spot with Team Australia.
Motorsport Australia has moved closer to selecting a Digital representative for this year’s FIA Motorsport Games with the first stage of the two-step qualifying process now complete.
After interested Australians posted their best lap time on the FIA’s Hot Lap worldwide program, 20 finalists were chosen for the next round of Qualifying for the Esports competition.
Taking place from 6pm AEST on Monday 19 September, competitors will be battling it out in the Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) PC game, with one practice session, two qualifying sessions and two races making up the schedule.
The driver who accumulates the most points across the two races will be crowned champion and will have the honour of representing Team Australia as its Digital representative at the international event in October in France.
The Qualifying event will be live streamed via The Sim Grid and the Motorsport Australia website.
