The Motorsport Australia WA Off Road Championship (WAORC) 2023 season resumes this weekend with the ever-popular Marsue Transport Make Tracks Bencubbin 400.
Serving as the third round of the 2023 season, a solid field of 56 crews will compete the two-day event where they will tackle five laps of the challenging 80 kilometre course.
With the WAORC one of the strongest state competitions in the country, the entry list is stacked with talent all the way through as defending state champions Adam and Craig Trewhella look to get back-to-back wins in Bencubbin.
Standing in their way this year will be a number of the same crews who the Trewhellas beat in the 2022 edition, namely Jared Percival and Wayne Batsona in their Prolite buggy and Probuggy star Mark Cramer and Jay Jankowski
Outside of last year’s podium are a collection of other crews capable of taking out top honours, headlined by two who didn’t attend last year but who have been good enough against the best crews in Australia in recent events.
Stephen Ketteridge-Hall and Haylee Cowling spent a large portion of the 2022 Black Diamond Drilling Kalgoorlie Desert Race in the outright top five, as well as March’s Perenjori 360 – only to break down in both events.
Should they hold it together for this weekend’s full event, there is every chance they can enjoy silverware.
Troy Higgins and John Simmons is another high-profile crew to look out for - a runner-up in April’s Gascoyne Dash automatically elevating them to one of the contenders for a victory in Bencubbin.
Other notable names include Trophy Truck stars Harleigh Uren and Karl Richardson, SXS Pro contenders Paul Delacy and Mat Dec and both Marcus and Craig Wells.

The race will begin on Saturday morning with Prologue where crews will tackle the shortened 20km course to get that ever-important qualifying spot locked in.
Saturday afternoon will see the field contest section one which is made up one lap of the full 80km course, before contesting sections two and three on Sunday, each comprising of two laps of the course.
Fans are able to attend at the WA Off Road Racing Association run event, with the multiple spectator points available for those who attend.
