The Motorsport Australia Victorian State Circuit Racing Championship is going coastal for the fifth and final round of its 2023 season this weekend, heading over the bridge to the world-famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
The scenic track is set to be baked in sunshine for a jam-packed weekend of racing, which kicks off with practice and qualifying early on Saturday, running all the way through to the final chequered flag on Sunday evening.
A bumper list of ten categories will make the trek to the Island, including Improved Production, Saloon Cars, Sports Sedans, Porsche 944 Challenge, Formula Vee, Historic Touring Cars, BMW E30, MG and Invited British Sports Cars, HQs, Excels, and Formula Ford.
There will be plenty of storylines to keep up with across the weekend, including Matthew Hillyer who’s sitting pretty in the lead in the Formula Ford series after two race wins last time out.
Hillyer will draw competition from the likes of Zak Lobko, Jake Santalucia and Xavier Kokai in a category that is saturated in young talent and littered with unmissable moments.
Formula Vee will produce a riveting battle of its own, when Reef McCarthy takes to the coastal shores in an attempt to stay atop the standings. He’ll battle it out with Nicholas Jones who currently sits 55 points behind.
Meanwhile, David Musgrave and Bradley James will be looking to continue their hot form from their last time out when they split victories in the Excels category.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate, priced for $20 for Saturday, $30 Sunday, or $40 for a weekend pass, with gates set to open at 7am on both days.
The fifth and final round of Motorsport Australia Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships will take place at the world-famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 23-24 September.
