Individuals eager to volunteer at next year’s Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix can now
submit their applications.
More than 900 Motorsport Australia volunteer officials were part of this year’s record-breaking event - from first-year flag and track marshals to highly experienced sector and fire marshals, there will be plenty of passionate individuals to help the event run smoothly.
Interested applicants have until Friday, 8 December to register as an official for the 2024 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix
and can do so here.
There are many perks to being a volunteer official – including having the best seat in the house to watch the racing action unfold, as well as the camaraderie within the Motorsport Australia volunteer official team being the two major factors.
Antonino Inferrera, who had been a long-time fan of the sport but didn’t sign up as an official until this year, was excited to have finally done so.
“I've always wanted to be in motorsport when I was younger but had a lot going on and money was always a problem even when I was karting,” Inferrera said during this year’s Australian Grand Prix.
“It wasn't until I was older that I found out about being an official and I am kicking myself that I found it later in life. I started a year ago and I have been finding it very good.
“Everyone's friendly and it's nice to see people. It's a good life. This will be my 20th Australian Grand Prix, but my first as an official and I am still pinching myself about being here.”
All applicants must have a current Motorsport Australia Officials Licence at the time of application to be considered.
Become a Motorsport Australia Official via the Motorsport Australia Member Portal.
The 2024 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix will take place in Albert Park in Melbourne on 21 - 24 March.
