Aussie drivers take the UK and US by storm

British F4 Championship – Donington Park

James Piszcyk made a strong start to his 2025 British F4 Championship season, securing a race win at Donington Park.

The 18 year old, now in his second year with Rodin Motorsport, aims to build on his success in the UK as the 2024 Australian F4 champion.

In Qualifying, Piszcyk’s times were consistent, earning the fifth grid spot for Race 1 with a time of 1:05.2, placing him only two-tenths from pole.

Race 1 saw the Australian charge to third place, but a five second penalty for a false start demoted him to ninth.

A strong finish to the weekend was still on the cards for Piszcyk, with the top 12 reverse grid format for Race 2 meaning he began from P8. The South Australian completed many overtakes during the opening lap, finishing fourth.

Piszyck began Race 3 in fourth, proving a great start that moved him into third place ahead of Henry Joslyn, and later chasing first place after a second safety car, winning his third career British F4 win.

“I’m super happy to come away with a win, and scoring big points was big in what we hope could be a great season for us,” Piszyck said.

“It’s all about keeping it clean when you know track limits are being looked at all weekend. I made sure of that a couple of times over both days – it paid off for us in race two and again in race three.

“I’m super proud of the team and would like to thank them for trusting me and my sponsors for supporting us.”

16 year old Australian Xavier Avramides also competed in the first round the 2025 British F4 Championship, demonstrating impressive improvements across the three races.

Although Avramides finished 20th for Race 1, he was able to secure P11 in Race 2 and took home P12 for Race 3.

The second round of the 2025 British F4 Championship heads to Silverstone circuit on 2-3 May.

GB3 Championship – Silverstone

Australian trio Gianmarco Pradel, Alex Ninovic and Patrick Heuzenroeder impressed in the 2025 GB3 season opener at Silverstone,

Qualifying 1 proved that all Aussie drivers were strong contenders for pole position, with Pradel taking P2, Ninovic in P5 and Heuzenroeder in P11.

In Qualifying 2, Ninovic was the quickest out of the three, securing P2 with a time of 01:52.074. Pradel and Heuzenroeder were able to secure positions within the top 10, with Pradel in P5 and Heuzenroeder in P8.

Race 1 saw Pradel and Ninovic battling it out and finishing alongside each other, with Pradel in third and Ninovic in fourth. Heuzenroeder maintained his position throughout the race, finishing in P11.

In Race 2, the Rodin Motorsport pair continued their close ties, with Pradel making effective use of the new DRS system to pass his teammate heading into Stowe corner, resulting in Padel securing fourth and Ninovic finishing fifth. The second race saw Heuzenroeder improve his first race finish, coming home in eighth and two-tenths behind Rodin Motorsport’s Abbi Pulling.

The final race of the weekend brought drama with a reverse grid, with Pradel being caught in a collision between Freddie Slater and Nikita Johnson, resulting in a DNF. Ninovic also unfortunately did not finish the race.

Heuzenroeder made a comeback in the third race, delivering a very impressive race result by finishing on the podium in second place.

Round 2 of the 2025 GB3 Championship takes place on 17-18 May for the Zandvoort GP.

GB4 – Silverstone

Jack Taylor secured his first 2025 podium with third place in Round 2 of the GB4 Championship at Silverstone.

The young Aussie also achieved an incredible result in the second race, finishing fourth behind Elite Motorsport’s Ary Bansal.

However, the third race led to unfortunate events with Taylor coming into contact with Isaac Phelps, resulting in a DNF.

Taylor is optimistic for the next round, which is set for 23-26 May at Oulton Park.

GT World Challenge America – Circuit of The Americas

Tom Sargent drove impeccably at The Circuit of The Americas, producing a podium finish with third for the Pro-Am class and sixth outright.

After two strong qualifying sessions, Sargent battled it out and stayed focused in a highly chaotic race where many racing incidents occurred.

In the closing stages of the race, Sargent made a decisive move on Jeff Burton to secure the final podium position.

The next round of the GT World Challenge America kicks off on 16-18 May at Sebring International Raceway.
