Motorsport Australia continues to invest in the development of its officials and the creation of structured pathways into senior officiating roles through the Appointed Officials Development Program (AODP), formerly the Senior Officials Development Program.
Following the program’s continued development, Motorsport Australia is now seeking expressions of interest from officials who would like to nominate for a position in the 2027 AODP.
Created to provide a pathway of progression for officials, the program’s aim is to develop future leaders across three key officiating roles: Race Director/Sporting Delegate, Steward and Technical Delegate.
It provides participants with opportunities to build their knowledge, experience and leadership skills while learning from some of the sport’s most experienced senior officials.
The 2027 program will continue to be run by experienced and respected Head Coaches who will support participants throughout the year.
The AODP currently supports officials across a range of categories, including Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, TGRA GR Cup, GT3/GT4, Aussie Race Cars and Ferrari Challenge Australasia, Australian Rally Championship and Australian Off Road Championship.
A spokesperson from the Motorsport Australia People & Culture team encouraged officials to register their interest, regardless of their current level of experience.
“We welcome all officials to express their interest in the program,” the spokesperson said.
“Although you may not have the experience for this role, other opportunities may arise and we are keen to gauge interest in our development pathways.
“Whilst this program will focus on Race Director/Sporting Delegate, Steward and Technical Delegate roles, we are looking to expand opportunities for Secretaries of the Event and Clerks of the Course in the future. Details about this program will come out shortly.”
Officials who are interested in developing their skills and progressing towards senior officiating positions are encouraged to consider nominating for the 2027 program.
