Rebecca Hind’s dedication to capturing the people and moments behind Australian motorsport has earned her recognition as the Supercheap Auto Official Superstar of the Month for September.

A respected motorsport photographer, Hind has spent more than a decade documenting Motorsport Australia events, with a particular focus on the officials who play an essential role in making each event possible.

Her journey began in 2014, when she was introduced to motorsport photography by an experienced photographer who was willing to show her the ropes.

From there, her involvement grew as she attended more events, built relationships with officials and discovered the importance of documenting the people working behind the scenes.

While fans often see the on-track action, Hind believes there is equal value in capturing the moments that happen away from the competition.

“For me, it’s about capturing those moments that a lot of people don’t see. They see the on-track actions, but they don’t see behind the scenes,” Hind said.

“For the officials, they don’t get to take those photos themselves. At the end of the day, it’s memories, it’s history, friendships built and everything in between.”

Hind’s commitment has seen her photograph officials across countless events, helping create a visual record of the people and experiences that make up Australia’s motorsport community.

Her message to others looking to get involved in motorsport is simple: ask questions, meet people and embrace every opportunity.

“Ask the questions, ask as many people as you can, get involved and don’t let anything restrict you,” Hind concluded.

Having continued her photography work while raising two children, Hind has demonstrated that involvement in motorsport can take many forms and can fit alongside the other important parts of life.

Her passion for photography, commitment to recognising officials and willingness to share the stories behind the scenes make her a deserving September Supercheap Auto Official Superstar.
