Nominations for the 2027–29 Motorsport Australia State Council terms will officially open on Monday, 3 August 2026, with members across the country encouraged to nominate for a range of leadership positions that play a key role in the governance and development of motorsport.
Available positions include State Council Chair, State Executive Members, Secretariats and Elected Directors depending on the state or territory.
Motorsport Australia’s State Councils play a vital role in supporting affiliated clubs, encouraging participation in motorsport and fostering an environment that promotes the growth of clubs, competitors, officials and the wider motorsport community.
State Councils are responsible for the coordination of activities within their respective regions and contribute to the delivery of Motorsport Australia’s Strategic Plan and broader organisational objectives.
The nomination process forms part of Motorsport Australia’s regular governance cycle and provides members with the opportunity to contribute to the future direction of the sport at both state and national levels.
For the 2027–29 term, the following positions are available:

Nominations for all State Council and Elected Director positions open on Monday, 3 August 2026 and close on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.
State Panel nominations for 2027-29 will be available soon.
Voting will take place electronically, with the successful nominees to be formalised during each state’s October State Council meeting, with the schedule as follows:
- Thursday, 1 October: Western Australia State Council
- Monday, 5 October: Tasmania State Council
- Tuesday, 6 October: Victoria State Council
- Tuesday, 20 October: South Australia/Northern Territory State Council
- Wednesday, 21 October: Queensland State Council
- Thursday, 22 October: New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory State Council
Members considering nominating are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the position descriptions and responsibilities of each position using the State Council Handbook and the important role State Councils play in representing affiliated clubs, supporting volunteers and officials, and strengthening motorsport across Australia.
