Motorsport Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Bruce Astbury to the pivotal role of State & Club Competition Manager.
Leading relationships with State Councils and clubs, Astbury will play a significant role in driving growth of club and state-level motorsport in this new position.
This new senior management role gives clear accountability for Motorsport Australia’s engagement with volunteer motorsport clubs across the country. Taking carriage of the existing Regional Development Executive team, Astbury will be focused on better support to grow and strengthen club level motorsport.
A current Victorian State Council Executive, Victorian Sprint Panel Chair and Marque Sports Car Association of Victoria President, Astbury comes to the role with an established network within the sport and a strong understanding of the administration of club level motorsport.
Motorsport Australia CEO Sunil Vohra congratulated Astbury on his appointment and believes this new role will prove critical moving forward.
“State and club level competition is the foundation of the motorsport pyramid in Australia. We are committed to enhancing support for club level motorsport in this country and advancing Motorsport Australia’s competitive market offering. We are pleased to be welcoming Bruce to the team at Motorsport Australia in the newly created role of State & Club Competition Manager,” Vohra said.
“This role is key for the organisation as we renew our focus on expanding state and club development as a means to get more people involved in motorsport, more often – this new role demonstrates a commitment to this goal.”
Astbury begins his role in September.
