The FIA Girls on Track Inspire program kicked off its first event of the year at the Sydney 500, held at Sydney Motorsport Park.
As the opening round of the 2025 Supercars season, the event provided the perfect backdrop for a small group of young girls aged 8 to 15 to dive into the world of motorsport and explore the endless possibilities of STEM.

The Inspire program, designed to encourage young girls to pursue interests in STEM subjects and industries, brought together a group of enthusiastic participants for a day filled with hands-on activities, behind-the-scenes access, and unforgettable experiences.
The event aimed to break down barriers and showcase the diverse career pathways available in motorsport and beyond.

The day began with the girls stepping into simulators at Focus Driver Performance where they got a taste of what it’s like to be behind the wheel, learning how data and engineering systems play a crucial role in optimising performance on track.
The participants were then treated to exclusive garage tours with Supercars teams, with the girls witnessing the work that goes into preparing and maintaining high performance race cars.

The atmosphere of the Sydney 500, combined with the thrill of seeing the cars in action, left the participants with a strengthened perspective of the motorsport world.
“Girls on Track was amazing and inspired me to think about my future,” said Daphne Schembri, one the the participants.
“My favourite workshop was the simulator because I love the idea of driving and the highlight of my day was meeting the other girls and learning about their interests in motorsport.”
The full 2025 Girls on Track calendar will be announced shortly.
