Formula 1 – Barcelona
Oscar Piastri extended his lead in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship to 10 points after a commanding weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix. The McLaren driver secured pole position and went on to convert it into his fifth victory for the 2025 season, leading home McLaren’s 52nd 1-2 finish in Formula 1.
Piastri’s drive was composed and controlled, even after a late safety car bunched up the field. The Victorian is now the third McLaren driver to score eight consecutive podium finishes, joining Ayrton Senna in 1988 and Lewis Hamilton in 2007.
Formula 1 next heads to Canada for the tenth round in the season on 13–15 June.

FIA Formula 3 – Barcelona
James Wharton is on the FIA Formula 3 Championship scoreboard following the Championship’s fifth round at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The ART Grand Prix driver showed promising pace throughout, recording 12th in practice and briefly holding third in qualifying before ultimately starting from 13th.
In the Sprint Race, Wharton made an impressive start to jump from 13th to sixth in the opening lap before finishing eighth, collecting his first points of the season. In the Feature Race, he fought his way to 11th and was provisionally classified inside the top ten post-race before a track limits penalty dropped him to 16th.
Still, it was a confidence-boosting step forward for Wharton, who next heads to Austria’s Red Bull Ring, a circuit he was victorious in last year’s FRECA campaign, on 27–29 June.

McLaren Trophy Europe – Monza
Jayden Kelly continued his strong form in the McLaren Trophy Europe alongside co-driver Michael O’Brien. The pair finished second in Race 1 before going one better in Race 2, taking victory on Sunday. Kelly also clocked the fastest lap of the race during the closing stages in front of a large crowd at Monza.
The next round of McLaren Trophy will take place at Spa-Francorchamps on 26–29 June.

GB3 Championship – Spa-Francorchamps
Pat Heuzenroeder produced the drive of the weekend in the GB3 Championship, charging from last to fourth in Race 3. After starting from the pit lane on slicks after a last minute switch decision during the formation lap, Heuzenroeder managed the early wet conditions before slicing through the field, passing 19 cars in nine laps and setting the fastest lap by nearly a second.
Earlier in the weekend, he finished seventh and 12th in Races 1 and 2 respectively. The final race haul ensures he remains firmly in title contention, currently sits second in the standings, just eight points off the leader.
The leader is fellow Australian Alex Ninovic, who enjoyed another strong weekend. Ninovic converted pole into a lights-to-flag victory in Race 1, surviving two safety car restarts and building a two second gap at the chequered flag. He added a third-place finish in Race 2 after briefly leading early on. In Race 3 however, Ninovic failed to finish after losing a wheel after pitting. Still, his overall pace and consistency see him retain the championship lead heading into a four week break.
Noah Lisle showed promise, particularly in Race 1 where he charged to a fourth-place finish after an aggressive final lap move at Blanchimont. Race 2 was more challenging after a problem on the start dropped him down the order, and a wrong tyre choice in Race 3 prevented him from capitalising on his fourth starting spot. He eventually finished 14th in both of the final two races.
Gianmarco Pradel had a mixed weekend but still managed to collect valuable points. He finished sixth in Race 1 and seventh in Race 2. A strategic decision in Race 3 didn’t work in his favour, and he slipped down the order to 16th. Despite the tough final race, it was another step forward in his Championship campaign with plenty of learning to take into the next round.
GB3 next heads to Hungary on 5–6 July at the Hungaroring.

IndyCar & Indy NXT – Detroit
Will Power continued his 2025 campaign with a fourth-place finish at the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix. The Queenslander remains in contention in the overall standings heading into the next round in fifth outright.
While Tommy Smith finished 17th in the Indy NXT race in Detroit as he continues to build experience in the series.
IndyCar returns to oval racing in Madison, Illinois for the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 on June 15.
IMSA SportsCar Championship – Detroit
Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet qualified fifth and converted that into a podium finish, coming home in third after a consistent and well-managed race.

GT World Challenge Europe – Monza
James Allen and his Optimum Motorsport teammates Largim Ali and Michael Porter put in a strong recovery drive at Monza, finishing 24th outright and fourth in the Gold Cup class aboard the McLaren 720S GT3 EVO.
The trio faced an uphill battle in the race, after technical issues prevented them from setting a representative qualifying time. As a result, they lined up 56th on the grid for the 83-lap endurance race. Despite the setback, Allen and his teammates steadily worked their way through the field, carving their way up 30 positions over the course of the race.
Next up for Allen is the prestigious CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa at the end of the month.

GT World Challenge Asia – Thailand
The Johor Motorsport Racing duo of Jordan Love and Prince Abu Baker Ibrahim showed promising pace in qualifying, securing sixth in Qualifying 1 and ninth in Qualifying 2. Unfortunately, brake issues hampered their race results, with the pair finishing 17th in Race 1 before being forced to retire from Race 2.
William Ben Porter and Andrew Macpherson had a mixed weekend, finishing 21st and 22nd across the two races. Despite qualifying 16th and 30th respectively, they climbed to third in the Am Cup for Race 1 and secured second in Race 2, which was a notable result considering their back-of-grid start.

New Zealand Rally Championship (NZRC) – Canterbury
Larisa Biggar and driver Caleb Macdonald enjoyed a strong weekend at the Lone Star Canterbury Rally. The pair won the NZRC Trophy Challenge, finished third in the Mainland Rally Championship, and were sixth in the overall NZRC classification. They also placed eighth outright for the event.
Neill Woolley and driver Josh Keighley were second in the NZRC Trophy Challenge and Subaru H6 Cup, as well as 12th outright.
Richard Galley and Claire Buccini finished third in Class C with their BMW 320i in addition to 12th in the Mainland Rally Championship and 25th outright.
