More Australians are resuming their respective seasons as the summer break winds down, with some wasting no time finding success abroad.
GB3 Championship – Brands Hatch GP
A double-win for Alex Ninovic marks the most recent round of the GB3 Championship at Brand Hatch a resounding success, extending his lead at the top of the Drivers Championship standings with two stops left in the season.
Ninovic converted pole position into victory in the first GB3 Championship race of the weekend on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit to get his first win of the weekend, before converting again the following day in Race 2, again from Pole Position. Ninovic (362 points) concluded the weekend in 12th place for Rodin Motorsport, but overall gained a 71-point advantage on the season ahead of Patrick Heuzenroeder (291 points).
Heuzenroeder placed inside the top four in the first two races, before a late incident in the third and final race saw him beached in the gravel and unable to finish the session, resulting in a DNF.

Trailing both Ninovic and Heuzenroeder in the standings, Gianmarco Pradel (276 points) also put on a consistent weekend. Pradel tabled a seventh in Race 1, a fifth in Race 2 after a respectable chase on Heuzenroeder for the majority of the session, and a 17th in Race 3.
Remaining Australian representative Noah Lisle (228 points), who is also putting together a top 10 finish in 2025 for JHR Developments, collated a 10th place finish in Race 1, a 10th place finish in Race 2, and a 13th place finish in Race 3.
The GB3 Championship visits Donington Park from 4-5 October and concludes at Monza from 18-19 October.
GB4 Championship – Brands Hatch GP
The GB4 Championship made its way to Kent over the weekend for Rounds 16 and 17 of the season, where Jack Taylor looked to build on his dominant performances at Silverstone at the season’s previous stop for Fortec Motorsport.
Unfavourable conditions meant Round 18 of the season, originally slated to be the third and final race of the weekend, has been pushed back to the final stop of the season at Donington Park in October.
Taylor was unable to replicate his pole position start following Qualifying from a couple weeks before, this time starting the weekend’s races from 11th on the grid.

It was a positive performance for Taylor, ascending multiple places up the final standings. He took his car all the way up to seventh (11 seconds off the leader), which also included an overtake on teammate Thomas Ingram Hill, who finished just over a second behind in eighth over 10 laps.
Back in 11th to start Race 2, Taylor’s mission to climb back up the race order was again on the cards. Similarly to his previous performance, Taylor gained multiple positions.
Finishing the race in 8th, Taylor’s biggest moment came on the final lap of the weekend, managing to overtake Douglas Motorsport’s Dayton Coulthard just before passing the chequered flag.
Taylor’s next stop is at Donington Park on 4-5 October where he will start the first of four weekend races in 11th, before commencing qualifying for Rounds 19, 20 and 21 with 140 points up for grabs across all four sessions. Taylor currently sits sixth in the standings with 219 points, 12 points behind Irishman Alex O’Grady.
European Le Mans Series – 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps
The second half of the European Le Mans Series got underway in Belgium at the world-famous Spa-Francorchamps with a trio of Australians among four separate race categories.
It was a less than ideal outing for Nielsen Racing team, where James Allen’s teammate John Falb went off the track just over an hour into the race at Turn 17, sending the team’s Oreca 07 – Gibson into the wall.
The American was okay but the car had to be lifted away, which required the Safety Car to be deployed. Allen, as a result, would not get onto the track.
“We had pretty good pace all weekend, between us and the number 24 car, so it was honestly quite exciting heading into the race, especially considering the fantastic start John had,” Allen said post-incident.
“It’s unfortunate we don’t know what happened, whether he had a puncture or something like that, it’s a very uncharacteristic thing for John to do so we’ll have to look into it. It’s a disappointing way to end the day, but that’s the way racing goes sometimes.”
Griffin Peebles and the WTM By Rinaldi Racing team were firmly entrenched in a fight for a class win in the LMP3 category early on with CLX Motorsport following a P2 qualifying result, fighting alongside German teammates Leonard Weiss and Torsten Kratz.
The team lost a position during the first driver changeover before falling away in the second driver portion of the race down to eighth in the class before Peebles was put into the driver’s seat.

The trio managed to secure a seventh place finish in the end, with Peebles gaining a position during his efforts as the third and final driver behind the wheel of the team’s Toyota Duqueine D09.
Garnet Patterson and United Autosports also had a weekend to forget in the in the LMGT3 category, with the team’s McLaren 720S LMGT3 Evo going off the track on lap 33 into the gravel at turn 11, activating the Virtual Safety Car.
Similarly to fellow countryman Allen, Patterson would not get behind the wheel.
The European Le Mans Series heads to the United Kingdom next for the penultimate round of the season, for the 4 Hours of Silverstone on 14 September where both men will be eager to get back on the track.
Le Mans Cup – Spa-Francorchamps
It was a busy weekend for Griffin Peebles, who undertook the Spa-Francorchamps round of the Le Mans Cup the day prior to his efforts in the European Le Mans Series.
Similarly to the previously mentioned ELMS efforts, Peebles was able to secure a P2 in the LMP3 Pro/Am class.
Peebles and teammate Sam Parrow were only able to secure a 12th-place finish in qualifying but put together a superb main race performance.

All eyes were on the LMP3 Pro/Am field with Peebles and Parrow moving up a total of 10 places to finish on the podium. Peebles had moved up to second place in the Rinaldi Racing Ligier during his portion of the race, before Parrow managed to stave off any attackers to finish second in the class.
The result puts Peebles and Parrow nine points clear in third in the Championship standings with two races to go.
The performance by the pair was arguably their best of the season and will look to build on that momentum at the next race during the Silverstone Round on 13 September, the second-last race of the 2025 Le Mans Cup.
IndyCar and IndyNXT – Milwaukee Mile 250
Will Power and Tommy Smith are looking ahead to a promising final weekend of the IndyCar season, after incidents prematurely ended their respective Milwaukee Mile 250 appearances.
Following Will Power’s victory at the Grand Prix of Portland on August 10, which broke a winless start to the season for Team Penske, the driver’s fortunes were signalled to have changed for the better.
However, Power’s race ended on mile 102 after hitting the wall twice, rendering his right side undrivable after an unsuccessful overtake.
The 2025 IndyCar Series season comes to a close this weekend at the Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Speedway.
In IndyNXT, Tommy Smith retired after 39 laps after almost losing control at turn 2 before getting stuck on the throttle in sixth gear forcing him to pull into the pits.
He will also look to rebound at the final Indy NXT event of the season at the Music City Grand Prix on Sunday, at the Nashville Superspeedway oval.
