Formula 1 – Zandvoort
Oscar Piastri has extended his lead in the Formula One World Drivers Championship with his first career win at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort.
Piastri secured pole position in qualifying, tallied the fastest lap of the feature race, led from lights out to the chequered flag and secured his seventh win of the season.
Piastri maintained a level head in the early moments of the race, defending charges from both teammate Lando Norris and local favourite Max Verstappen, who almost lost control of his car on lap 1 in a successful overtake of Norris.
McLaren’s hopes for a race win were placed entirely on Piastri’s shoulders, after an oil leak and an engine failure brought Norris’ race to a premature end after 64 laps – one of three drivers to accrue a DNF, alongside Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
The win for Piastri was his ninth career victory, tying fellow Australian and Piastri’s manager, Mark Webber’s career total. Piastri is now also the first Australian since Jack Brabham to complete a Grand Slam (Great Britain 1966).
Piastri now leads the Drivers Championship by 34 points with nine races remaining in the season, with the Constructors Championship all but secured for McLaren who are more than 320 points ahead of the rest of the paddock.
The grid next heads to Monza on 5-7 September for the Italian Grand Prix.
British F4 – Donington Park
Jimmy Piszcyk and Xavier Avramides made their way to the East Midlands for Round 8 of the British F4 Championship round, which wasted no time entertaining fans as qualifying involved 10 fastest lap changes.
Piszcyk secured 12th and Avramides battled his way to 23rd, as they both looked to build off their respective performances for the rest of the weekend.
Piszcyk did exactly that, moving up six places in Race 1, banking solid points for the season with a Best Lap time of 1:30.141. Avramides also made positive progression, climbing seven spots up the order to place 16th with his best lap noted at 1:30.335 to close out Saturday.
Sunday came about full of promise for Rodin Motorsport as Piszcyk was eager to continue a Championship tilt in 2025.
Starting from third on the grid in Race 2, Piszcyk made a quick getaway to split the Argenti Motorsport duo of Arjen Kräling and Ethan Jeff-Hall, who occupied the front row. He then grabbed the lead before the 25-car field had reached its second lap.

From that point on, Piszcyk was peerless out front, making the most of the clean air, and after Adam Al Azhari dispatched Kräling to take second place at the end of the opening lap, the Rodin Motorsport duo dominated the race all the way to the chequered flag after 14 laps.
Avramides’ overtaking prowess was again on display, starting way back in the field at 23rd. He managed to move all the way up to 14th, tallying a best lap time of 1:30.425.
The win for Piszcyk was his fourth for the year and was done so in front of capacity crowd, making for a memorable moment for the 18-year-old.
Race 3 began with Piszcyk starting in 10th and Avramides further back in 23rd.
The former backed up his win from earlier in the day, moving up to fourth after 17 laps, and also moving into second in the Drivers Championship standings on 231 points behind Fionn McLaughlin on 276.5 points.
Avramides finished the final race of the weekend in 12th, giving an indicator of what he is capable of given a strong qualifying session.
The second last stop of the British F4 Championship heads to Silverstone on 20-21 September.
McLaren Trophy Europe – Nürburgring
Jayden Kelly and British teammate Michael O’Brien are happy in every sense after a superb outing at Germany’s Nürburgring, following both races in the McLaren Trophy Europe over the weekend.
The pair started from pole position after a good run in qualifying, where O’Brien executed his role to perfection as the first driver leading from the outset.
Eventually replacing O’Brien in the driver’s seat after 14 laps, Kelly needed to regain the lead with a touch over 20 minutes remaining in the race trailing just three cars.
A lap later, all three teams followed suit into the pits and Kelly assumed the lead for the first time following the driver change.

It was a straight-forward process from that point on for Kelly and O’Brien, building out to a seven and a half second lead and concluding the race across the finish line first after 24 laps.
Kelly had the responsibility of starting Race 2 from sixth and performed well out of the gate to maintain his position through the first 10 minutes of the session.
Kelly then improved to fourth briefly as teams started going into the pits, which Kelly himself would do on lap 11, handing O’Brien an eighth place spot upon re-emerging from the pits.
O’Brien then stormed home to finish the race in fourth, allowing the duo to take home another bundle of points and improve upon their season points total.
Rounds 9 and 10 of the McLaren Trophy Europe will take place on 3-5 October at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France.
GT World Challenge Europe – Nürburgring
The Wright Motorsports team and Tom Sargent undertook the three-hour session at the famous Nürburgring in the Porsche 911 GT3 R. Sargent, alongside teammates Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer fought hard in qualifying to start P10 among the class. Strong efforts and efficient driving from the drivers yielded fantastic results, eventually taking P6 in Gold and P28 outright to complete the weekend.
Round 9 of the GT World Challenge Europe arrives in Valencia, Spain on 19-21 September in the penultimate event of the 2025 calendar.
It was just Sargent’s second GT World Challenge Europe appearance that resulted in points, following on from a decent showing at the 24 Hours of Spa in Round 5.

GT World Challenge Asia – Okayama
A trio of Aussies made their way to Japan’s Okayama International Circuit to feature in Round 9 and 10 of the GT World Challenge Asia season as the calendar winds to a close.
In Qualifying 1, it was Jayden Ojeda alongside Craft-Bamboo teammate Qi Cao, who obtained P10 after nine laps, qualifying for fourth in the Pro-Am class ahead of the Main Race. In Qualifying 2, Ojeda and Cao, weathered a P13 (ninth in class) result after nine additional laps.
Ojeda began Race 1 in the pits as Cao gained early ground in the first few laps of the session, getting into seventh outright at one stage. Cao then fell back down to 10th, before exchanging spots with Ojeda, who returned to the track in 14th. Ojeda drove well to finish the session 7th outright and fourth in class, just missing out on the podium.
In Race 2, the Pro-Am class put on a skilful showcase with the category filling up all of the top six finisher spots, including Ojeda and Cao. The pair finished fifth outright in their Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO and finished the weekend on an excellent note.
Meanwhile, AMAC Motorsport’s Andrew Macpherson and teammate William Porter qualified in P29 and fourth in class with their Porsche 911 GT3 R in Qualifying 1. The Aussie pairing replicated the same result in Qualifying 2, again sitting in fourth position for the AM class and looking for a better effort in the main races.
Macpherson and Porter both improved their outlooks in the main races securing a podium in Race 1 (third in class), and a respectable finish (fifth in class) result in Race 2.
The final stop of the 2025 GT World Challenge Asia season takes place on 17-19 October for Rounds 11 and 12 at the Beijing Street Circuit.

IndyCar/Indy NXT – Nashville
The IndyCar season came to a close at the Music City Grand Prix for Will Power, who finished three laps down from eventual winner and teammate Josef Newgarden, in 21st.
Power would briefly lead the race early in the session after Pato O’Ward crashed out of first place, but Power’s hopes of a second win of the season were dashed on Lap 131, overshooting his pit stall, which was then compounded after he stalled the #12 Chevy.
Power’s campaign was solid by all accounts. Finishing ninth with 357 points, a race win in Portland, six finishes inside the top five, and eight finishes inside the top 10.

The season also came to a close for Indy NXT competitor Tommy Smith, who was resigned to 17th in his session at the Music City Grand Prix, as he managed 49 laps before Myles Rowe ultimately took home the win.
Smith finishes the 2025 season with 202 points under his belt, ranking 15th overall for the year.
