Rising Australian motorsport star Patrick Heuzenroeder will make his FIA Formula 3 debut at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
The runner-up in the 2025 GB3 Championship, Heuzenroeder takes to the streets of Albert Park in front of his home crowd, racing for the 2025 Formula 3 Teams’ Champions, Campos Racing, to replace an injured Ernesto Riviera.
The opportunity follows strong performances at a recent three-day Formula 3 Official Test in Barcelona, where Heuzenroeder was asked to attend on only a few days’ notice and stepping into FIA F3 machinery for the first time.
Heuzenroeder adapted quickly and demonstrated genuine front-running pace, finishing sixth overall on the final day.
“I’m really pleased to make my Formula 3 debut at my home Grand Prix in Melbourne,” Heuzenroeder said.
“To be able to do this as one of the few Aussies to have been in this paddock is pretty special. I’m ready to take on the challenge, learn as much as possible and make the most of this.
“I’m extremely grateful to the team and my partners and supporters who are making this happen.”

Originally hailing from Sydney in New South Wales, Heuzenroeder is signed with Campos Racing for the 2026 EuroCup 3 season and is currently competing in the Spanish Winter Championship ahead of his main EuroCup 3 campaign, which begins in May.
This year’s Australian Grand Prix which will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of Sir Jack Brabham’s 1966 Formula 1 World Championship.
Coincidentally, Heuzenroeder is mentored by fellow Australian and former Formula 1 driver and Le Mans winner, David Brabham, son of Sir Jack, who will also be in the paddock as part of the celebration.
The Melbourne event will mark the opening round of the FIA Formula 3 season, providing Heuzenroeder with the opportunity to showcase his talent on motorsport’s biggest stage starting 6 March.
