Supercars teams and drivers cross the Tasman this week as the Repco Supercars Championship prepares for its maiden New Zealand double-header, beginning with the ITM Taupō Super 440 on the nation’s North Island.
The series will contest six races across eight days, with Taupō on the North Island followed by the inaugural Christchurch Super 440 at Ruapuna Raceway.
After a month-long logistical effort to transport cars and equipment, competitors are eager to return to racing action.

Broc Feeney is determined to rebuild momentum after a heavy crash in the final race of the Melbourne SuperSprint, which cost him the early-season championship lead.
The 23-year-old has already claimed three wins in 2026, adding to 29 career victories, but is yet to reach the top of the podium outside Australia.

The Taupō visit also marks a significant milestone for Dick Johnson Racing, which will celebrate its 1100th race start.
The historic team, founded by Dick Johnson, has enjoyed success across more than four decades, highlighted by multiple championships and Bathurst 1000 victories.
Brodie Kostecki leads the standings heading into the double header after matching his 2025 win tally with three victories already this season.

Driving the No. 17 Ford, Kostecki hopes to extend his advantage while contributing to the team’s milestone moment. Alongside him, rookie Rylan Gray is building confidence in his debut Supercars campaign after claiming the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series crown.
On-track action begins with practice on Friday, followed by two 120-kilometre races on Saturday and a 200-kilometre feature race on Sunday.
Across both Taupō and Christchurch, drivers will compete for the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy, awarded to the highest points scorer over the two rounds, honouring the beloved Kiwi driver who succumbed to cancer in 2011.
The ITM Taupō Super 440 begins this Friday – tickets can be purchased here through Ticketek.
