This weekend’s Christchurch Super 440 will make history, with Supercars preparing for its long-awaited debut on the South Island of New Zealand.
Ruapuna Raceway is ready to host its first-ever Supercars event with teams and drivers completing final preparations for the second and final stanza of the season’s trip across the Tasman.
Following the disruption of last weekend’s round in Taupō due to Cyclone Vaianu, officials have adjusted the schedule, adding an extra race to Friday’s program.

Action will begin with a single practice session at 9:35 a.m. NZST, followed by qualifying at 2:15 p.m., before Race 10 of the 2026 season gets underway at 4:35 p.m.
Local favourite Ryan Wood will look to build on strong form after claiming his first Supercars victory on home soil in the final race at Taupō.
The Wellington representative and Toyota driver currently leads the standings for the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy, awarded to the highest points-getting for the two New Zealand rounds.
A lot of focus will naturally also fall on Championship leader Brodie Kostecki, having won the opening race last weekend and carrying his own momentum into Christchurch.

Supercars stalwart and seasoned campaigner David Reynolds will reach a major career milestone, with Saturday’s race marking 500 starts in the category.
The battle for the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy remains tight, with Broc Feeney trailing Wood with four races remaining to decide this year’s winner.
The trophy honours the late Jason Richards, a beloved figure in Australasian motorsport and respected Kiwi competitor.
Fans can catch all the action live on Kayo and Foxtel in Australia, and via Sky Sport in New Zealand, as Christchurch prepares for a landmark weekend of racing.
