The calendar for the KINCROME SXS Motorsport Australia Championship has been confirmed with six rounds to form part of the 2022 season.

After two years of interruptions, the six-event calendar is a major boost for the championship, which will see every round run in conjunction with the BFGoodrich Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship (AORC).

However, while the KINCROME SXS Motorsport Australia Championship will run at every round of the AORC, it will still stand as its own championship with a separate points system.

Competitors who compete in the championship are not restricted to just running in the SXS championship though, with interested competitors and crews able to cross enter in the AORC component at each event and score points towards both championships.

Starting with the Cobb & Co Hotel in March and the Pooncarie Desert Dash in May, SXS crews will then get the opportunity to race on the biggest stage of all in June, with the Tatts Finke Desert Race.

The Can-Am Loveday 400 in South Australia then awaits competitors in July, before heading across the Victorian border for the Hindmarsh Shire Rainbow Desert Enduro at the start of September.

Following Rainbow, the championship then travels out west for the final round in October – The Black Diamond Drilling Kalgoorlie Desert Race.

Championship founder Sam Beck was looking forward to the 2022 season and the new era.

“It’s a very exciting time for the championship, especially after two years of lean times for all," Beck said.

“We were lucky enough to get three rounds completed at the start of the year and eventually award a champion, but we have had to find a sustainable way of continuing to grow, while staying true to what the championship is.

“It’s great the AORC has welcomed us to the fold and we really look forward to going to some locations where we have never been to.

“The championship was already in a strong position, but to join the AORC for its entirety is very exciting and will only add to the strength of it.

“A big thanks to Motorsport Australia and the AORC for allowing something like this to happen.”

After three rounds in 2021 were completed, Stephen Henry was crowned as champion and the new titleholder is likely to compete next year.

The KINCROME SXS Motorsport Australia Championship begins in St George in Northern Queensland on 18-20 March.
